Rush Limbaugh, A Picture Worth A Million Words
The Reason For My Faith ^ | 4/10/22 | Chuck Ness

Posted on 04/10/2022 8:39:47 AM PDT by OneVike

In his September 2017 issue of the Limbaugh letter, Rush wrote the following.

"The Democrat Party is seen by more and more people as a Bullying Big Government brute. Democrat policies aren't working for the people - they fail, every time they're tried. That's what the Republicans are missing! They're blowing the greatest chance imaginable to deal a lethal blow electorally, to reduce the Democrats to a weak, hallowed-out shadow of their former status for a generation."

Now at the time when this issue was published, we had Trump as President, and he had both houses of Congress. Yet the Republicans refused to take the bull by the horns. Sadly, a year later, over 40 Republicans would retire without fighting. They left Congress and watched with glea as the Democrats took control to stop Trump.

Today the Democrat party is in an even more vulnerable spot than when Rush wrote his commentary. Not since after the Civil War, has the Democrat party been so despised by the electorate. Unless the Republican starts acting like it, they could blow it again. Oh we have some Republicans fighting, but we also have the same deep state Republicans doing all they can to toss life jackets to the Democrats drowning in their own quagmire of self destruction. It's time for us all to heed Rush's advice and burry the Democrat Party once and for all. If we don't, we may never get a better chance.

If the GOP "blows it", it will be done on purpose. There is absolutely no excuse for the GOP being unable to make the case for defending the Constitution and our freedom.

How many members of both political parties do what their blackmailers tell them to do? DC orgies with drugs being recorded, like the recordings that supposedly happened on a certain Caribbean island.

As long as Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan are still near DC nothing good will happen in the GOP.

As Tucker put it, we are damn tired of being stabbed in the back by the likes of Romney, Collins and Murkowski.

I have 30 years of the Limbaugh letter, and I plan on using them to write short commentaries from time to time so we can read what Rush said then, and how pertinent his words still are today.

Perhaps the 40 retirements is the best we could hope for under the circumstances. The new congress will be much more conservative after 4 years on the outs.
It will still take 2 election cycles to get it right provided we don’t blow it. Another hurricane Sandy or covid variant could change things. The death of one of our SCOTUS folk.

Gotta say I was looking forward to retirement with the big fella still on the air. I’d love to listen to his old stuff bot the website does something different now. Don’t know what it is.

The pubbies are not tossing life jackets to the demonRATs, they are just as corrupt and are trying to save their own asses.

In 2017 it was the pubbies that didn't vote for the WALL and let Trump out to dry.

What happened?

Paul Ryan, the pubbie Speaker of the House, that stalled all of Trump's goals, got a seven figure job at FOX as a pay off.

Ryan and Weiner used to blow each other in the showers after they "worked out" together.

I hate Ryan more than any other pol in the past 25 years. May the blight fall upon the ryan household and all of his off spring for generations, until global warming kills the entire human race.

Too much?

The Uniparty was created years earlier.
The 'go along' party sold out and stopped represent 'the people', and were there to service themselves, and their families !
Government service used to mean service - and NOT - "what's in it for me".
Biden isn't alone in 'selling out'. It is the bane of representative government !

Because Republicans when in power aren't that much better.
Talk Loud and carry a small stick is what they do.

Mitt Romney makes me feel that way. He caused me to not vote for the top of the ticket for the first time in my voting life and I’m 76 years old. That, after gagging down and voting for McCain 4 years previously.

They have to win first. There is no indication that the GOP has any plan in place for doing so, which is par for the course for these idiots.

I agree. My wife took it pretty hard. He had been her best friend at home through the years while I was at work.

We have already seen the answers.

Republicans had the chance to set the US back on track when Americans voted to elect Trump.

Did Republicans seize the opportunity?

No. Rather than support Trump, some resigned, some betrayed him like Judas, some denied him like Peter, and others actively worked to undermine him.

Republicans missed their opportunity. Will they have another? If they do, will they act differently?

The RepubliCANT Party has the opportunity to bury the DemocRAT party forever after the 1994 Clinton mid-term elections.

They FAILED. I do not want to speak ill of the Great Rush Limbaugh here, I miss his humor and steadfast optimism every day. I really do. I seem to recall him saying after the drubbing the rats got in 1994 that some of them should be kept around just to remind ourselves why they should never be allowed the reigns of power again.

And wouldn't we know, look how bad the RepubliCANT party has turned out to be all these years later.

Is my memory bad? Is my memory bad here?

Your memory is spot on sir. Speaker Gingrich was one of those who talked a great game, had some conservative things brought up for 1 vote, then moved on to other matters.
