They are described as the best anti-ship missiles ever, and the UK is about to send its harpoon missiles to Ukraine to help combat Russian warships. The Harpoon is an all-weather, over-the-horizon, anti-ship missile developed and manufactured by Boeing Defence.The UK will send the Harpoon missiles in a bid to break the Russian navy’s siege of Black Sea ports.
Fitted with a 500lb high explosive blast warhead, the system is carried by 600 Nato warships and 180 submarines around the world.
The 15ft missiles are accurate to a range of 80 miles. Harpoon missile can be put on trucks alongside a relatively simple command-and-control apparatus.
Because they are easy to move, they make the perfect fit for the Ukrainian military...

Yes, a tactical nike is one possible response. As is a hostage situation where they threaten to execute in return for each attack, or some retaliation.
There seems to be a strong belief that Ivan will not escalate further, that they will retreat. Up until a two weeks ago, that was a option, but not anymore - thanks to the rash statements of the regime and the imposter on the throne. It is now a fight to the death. The question is, how many civilians will die before there is a settlement??

The Russians claim they are not at war. They just have lost 2-3 times as many killed in less than 2 months as were killed in the entire Afghan war in 10 years.

But skepticism of reports from this conflict is justified.
Some of it may just be bookkeeping 'sleight of hand'. The feds may have budget money available, or export paperwork pre-approved, for sending money/weapons to Country A but not Country B. So, some fed bureaucrat makes arrangements with Country A, for Country A to send the money/weapons to Country B, and Uncle Sam ships replacements to Country A.
Bottom line, the American taxpayers don't have a clue how many tens of billions of dollars are being pissed away on this war, out of various budgets throughout the federal government, and - given the history of Biden family "business dealings" and Ukrainian corruption - you can bet that a large part of the money & weapons will end up in private hands...
Then address your comment to someone who wants to debate your concern. My comment had to do with the usefulness or not of the harpoon weapon system in this scenario.

if there is “criminality”, ( a phrase thrown around this little war, as much as the word ‘racist’ is thrown about in America), it is by both Putin and Mr. Z. Putin, in his land grab of a now free state, to render it, again, under the rule of non-communist Moscow. Mr. Z., if all of the stories of Bidencash prove to be exact.
Hatred, fueled by invasion, becomes an amnesia of anything good, with only thd desire to make the invader wish his commanders were never born, and to fill him with the dread of not being returned to home and family, either without his shield or on it.
I can accept sarcasm from someone I know well enough to know that the sarcasm is in jest. I don’t know you and I don’t think your comment was in jest. I believe it mirrors your actual views, which would seem to be that the Ukrainians would drop missiles on their own people. Convince me otherwise.
