House Dem: Big Oil is profiteering by, er ... doing what we demanded

If Merriam-Webster could embed tweets in its definitions, you’d find this attached to the entry for “hypocrite.” In fact, CNBC thought this exchange between Joe Kernan and House Democrat Jan Schakowsky was so laughably hypocritical that they made sure to highlight it on Twitter. Schakowsky plans to hold a hearing on Big Oil’s supposed price gouging, but Kernan reminds Schakowsky that she and her colleagues spent last year haranguing oil executives to cut back production — including a vote to end fracking in the US.

Oddly, Schakowsky doesn’t want to discuss that....

In another measure of how dumb the “gouging” argument is, oil production is actually up this year, due in no small part to the fracking that Schakowsky tried to stop. Reuters reported three months ago that oil producers got spurred into higher production thanks to the higher spot and futures prices, which makes hash of Schakowsky’s economic paranoia....

I would like them to investigate the wind fall profit that congress got by giving themselves a 20% pay raise!

Maybe they could also look at the car companies that are adding a surcharge above their MSRP.

Someone sure as hell is because 3.8% of our boil came from Russia last year and gas prices have gone up a lot more than that.

CONGRESS. The best damned job on the planet. WHAT other job can you get where you get to decide your own pay raise, your own retirement, your own special spending account, your own health care coverage, get kickbacks from big interests, get cost of living in high cost Sodom on the Potomac coverage, have your own bank where you can over spend your inflated checking and banking accounts. WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GET A JOB, that you come into it a used car salesman, making maybe $45,000 a year and leave after 30 years as so many times over a millionaire that you cannot count all those millions? You have homes in Sodom, in your home state, probably out in Colorado, Arizona, and Hawaii. Maybe even one over in Europa. Where else can you get all this, AT TAX PAYER EXPENSE!!
