-Now, they're looking into potentially filing a lawsuit. -The high school runner was punched in the head during his 1,600m race last Saturday at the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational in Kissimmee, Florida.
-The athlete who threw the punch had earlier got in the way of the lead runner.
-After still obscuring the track, the runner pushed him out of the way.

The family of a high school track star who was sucker-punched during a race say they had wanted to press charges against his attacker but deputies had threatened to arrest their son if they'd done so.
Now, the family is considering filing a civil lawsuit against the other student and the track invitation event that hosted the race, their attorney says.
Shocking video of the attack during the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational in Kissimmee last Saturday captured the incident as a pack of runners coming down the track in the 1,600-meter race when a teen comes up from behind and punches the athlete in the lead in the back of the head

The article says he pushed the attacker out of the way in a prior lap because he was blocking the track. I am guessing that could be classified as battery but the cops really just did not want to do their job.
Hate crime law is supposed to protect all races. Yet honestly it seems to not apply to those with light colored skin, or rarely.
It’s like predicting the sun will rise in the east, or water is wet.
Yes, I think you do.
The reporting is awful, as always. The challenge, from the responding deputies’ point of view is that they had a misdemeanor that had occurred outside of their presence, and even this news piece says that the victim had previously made physical contact with the assailant, so it would sound a lot like “mutual combat” without the video evidence. But for a juvenile, the “arrest” would mostly be a cite-and-release to the parents, so the family’s lawyer’s description is a little melodramatic.
OTOH, presuming that the video evidence is new, there’s nothing stopping the family from filing a new report. No way the DA will file though in current year. Some people have license to do whatever they want without consequence.
The kid who got knocked down does not look like Chris Rock. I guess they all look alike.
The only charge I can think of is fomenting a race riot. Wouldn't stick though.
Black privilege.
“ Hate crime law is supposed to protect all races.”
Somehow they have sold the notion that blacks CAN’T be racist, that it is the exclusive position of the white man to be racist. I still haven’t figured that one out.
Haven’t seen one, even though it allegedly happened on the track...Even if there was a shove it doesn’t justify the sucker punch in my opinion...
victim supposedly shoved the puncher earlier...
Just a guess - the local cops have already maxed-out their DOJ-allowed arrest quota for black men, and don’t want any more, lest they lose Fed.gov money or get involved in a civil-rights lawsuit from the DOJ
Hate crime.

Like never.
Yup.🙄
The Family of the attacked victim, should have gotten the cops name who threatened arrest. The officers name should be mentioned in the story. An important part of the who, what, why... of the story.
Ghetto Democrat scum get more violent by the week.
" ... when a teen comes up from behind and punches the athlete in the lead in the back of the head
Allegedly the white kid pushed the black kid before starting the race.
F the law.
