Great scene. They even lit his cigarette for him. It is just pure American in your face bravado with certain death to follow. As they would have shot him anyhow, it was worth it just to piss them off. As well, it demonstrates the mindless servile disposition of the enlisted who obeyed orders in complete violation of the Geneva Convention.
Ukraine’s Alamo . . . . . .
There is a record of a U.S. officer, not part of the crew, that intentionally went down with a damaged boat under attack because he had a lot of intel and was concerned about his ability to withstand Japanese torture. No question about courage there.
That would make a great Sabaton song.
I have not seen video. There was audio, which is easily captured in multiple ways. Was probably sent out in real time before the Ukraines were killed. There may have been some cell phone video from the island as well but it probably doesnt show much since they were hunkered down. The audio I heard was played with a stock photo of what the island looks like from sea and air.
Just curious, why is it important to you whether I think its real or fake?
Whatever...
The US Govt’s policy of letting war criminals, especially Japanese war criminals, off the hook after WW2 is a stain on our national honor. When I look back on how Werner Von Braun was feted all those years it turns my stomach. The US Govt agreed to let Japanese and German human experimenters off the hook in return for their “research”. It all turned out to be worthless. Many Japanese war criminals became members of Parliament and other govt officials. To this day the Japanese do not acknowledge the Rape of Nanking.
They need to pick their battles a little better. It was Patton who said, “No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making some other poor dumb bastard die for his country.” They were out numbered and outgunned.

My sentiments exactly as it pertains to every single "news" story issued by the mockingbird media.
Nuts
World War of the Elites
***WWE, with some same elements as the WWE bouts on TV.
Sounds like the Wake Island propaganda - “Send us more Japs.”
That movie gets more and more relevant with each passing day.
That's what all propaganda is for.
Sometimes in war you die. I’m sure they didn’t plan on it just as the defenders at Bastogne didn’t know the outcome. Either way, they made themselves heroes for their country.
But smug Americans like to be armchair geniuses.
Long live the Ukrainian heroes!
Fuck Biden!
Agreed. But least there was some reason - however thin - for letting the Nazi scientists off the hook. What really sickens me is how many high-level Axis murderers were simply let go.
These were the camp officers and functionaries who were sentenced to death or life imprisonment after the war. Then they were let go after a few years for “health reasons”. Most of them lived on to a ripe old age.
I am truly puzzled by this weak behavior on the part of the western Allies. Victims demand justice, even from the grave. Sometimes I think it would have been better to turn those Nazis over to Stalin. I doubt if he would have been so magnanimous.
So was the Alamo stupid?
There’s no reason that Von Braun and others couldn’t have done their research from special facilities where they could spend their downtime in cells.
Von Braun refused to cooperate unless his conditions were met. His team was tight-knit and would only listen to him.
