Court Reinstates Ban on Eugenics Abortions: It's Protecting 'the Most Vulnerable Among Us'

A Tennessee pro-life group is applauding a federal appeals court after it reinstated a much-debated ban that prohibits abortions based on a specific prenatal diagnosis...

The ban, part of a law known as HB 2263, makes it a crime for a doctor to perform an abortion on a woman if the doctor knows she is doing so because of the child’s sex, race or Down syndrome diagnosis.

A federal judge previously struck down the ban, and a three-judge appeals court panel subsequently upheld the lower court decision. But on Wednesday, the full U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated the ban. The vote was 11-6...

Supporters of the law said a ban is needed because abortion is being used for eugenics.

“There is substantial evidence from across the globe and in the United States that the elimination of children with unwanted characteristics is already occurring,” the legislative findings said. “The abortion rate for children diagnosed with Down syndrome in utero approaches one hundred percent (100 percent) in Iceland, ninety-eight percent (98 percent) in Denmark, ninety percent (90 percent) in the United Kingdom, and seventy-seven percent (77 percent) in France.

Human life is sacred which only the Giver of Life has a right to take except when commanded by Him for capital crimes. Only God who is uniquely omniscient and omnipotent knows what all the effects - for this life and eternity - will be for even the time we go out of bed.

An aspect of this life is that if we were all healthy, wealthy and wholly self-sufficient we should overall be a very shallow people, and it those who are truly in need that require and enlargement of heart from others, plural (as well as correction for those who refuse to help themselves and serve others if they can).

Thank God for His man-fold grace!

I wonder if that includes gender and/or related issues. China really screwed itself on that one.

Also, while I don’t currently believe that there is anything ‘genetic’ about homosexuality, I’ve wondered how the ‘pro choice’ people would think if it were found to actually be a genetic issue.

Would they think it’s ok to ‘choose’ to abort a homosexual child?

There is an organization called PLAGAL— pro life gays and lesbians. They are pro life precisely because of just such an issue.

I’ve never heard of them. But at least they’ve got something right.

No, not any more than when it is a Mongoloid or an infant born with HIV. The principal is that as human life is sacred, life is not to be taken by man unless guilty of a capital crime (like in life for life). Contrary to media portrayal, while opposing the practice of homosexual relations and the whole homosexual agenda, yet along with other social evils. evangelicals are foremost providers of non-gov. humanitarian aid  (including much to Africa) to everyone, which includes those who have HIV. Saddleback HIV & AIDS Initiative specifically provides AIDS by caring for people living with and affected by HIV.

However, none of that matters to the liberal Left, as what the devil demands is full approval of homosexuality and all that this entails (since this is a fundamental perversion of what God ordained). But just on the historical medical record alone, what do you think the response would be if a consensual Christian practice such as taking part in the Lord's supper resulted in the participants constituting 80% of new HIV cases among men, after 40 years of trying to tame the practice, and at significant cost to taxpayers for prevention and treatment?

Yes, I sure did miss it, quickly reading the question as "I’ve wondered how the ‘pro life ’ people would think if it were found to actually be a genetic issue" rather than pro choice!

A very good question, but I am sure they would labor to induce (no puns intended) would be abortion patients to give birth. But if being a conservative Christian was found to be genetic? Quite the opposite.
