John had changed a lot by the 80s. I think he even liked Reagan.
They had met each other during a Monday Night Football game. Reagan was explaining the rules of American Football to John.

IIRC Julian doesn’t have a lot of good things to say about John.
I get the impression that Julian loved John, but he never got over John’s betrayal of his mother Cynthia, and how John basically walked away from both of them when he met Yoko. Both Julian and Sean do seem to be decent men, however.
