Received a mandatory update (34) alert on my Samsung Galaxy S10e. You can delay the install, but not avoid it.
Now all internet access starts from a Google Chrome page. While you can uninstall Google Chrome, you also lose access to Google maps.
And those duckduckgo searches you thought were private....uh, no, they are sitting there listed as "recent searches".
Sad to tell you, IIRC , Waze is owned now by Google. So there’s that. (Even wonderful Wikipedia says so)
“If you have a google account, go in and disable or pause all of their BS including tracking, location, ad preferences etc.”
This. You can only go max privacy (for google) by desktop computer. Use DDG, ask how.
That’s nice.
I’m gonna check my email in about 2 months.
Waze was purchased by Google in fall of 2019.
Do you have emergency vehicle phone?
The solution is to leave your phone at home if and when you do not want to be tracked.
Although I think this why “they” will eventually have to require people to be injected with a permanent chip. Our evil overlords demand to know where you are at all times and whether you are saying bad things about the State.
Otherwise, it’s never ending stupidness with Google “updating” your phone’s and messing up your personal settings.
All you can do is just reset everything and then it all starts over again.
I have no idea why I need to back up my point with a link.

No.
Also, if possible do your Personal internet searches on a library computer.
I thought a Chinese game software maker took over my Android phone.
Well as long as the Chinese government spyware still works no Chinese programmer will get shot.
I was coming from the LG V series phones. I loved LG phones and was sorry to see them exit the market. I’m not a big fan of Google, so I resisted the Pixel. However, the Samsung S21 Ultra was really awful. I didn’t like anything about it. So, I sent it back and got a Pixel, which I truly love. It’s a fantastic phone. Aside from the crippling of not having an SD card slot. But, I didn’t use it that much anyway.
The Pixel battery life is incredible and the phone is great to hold in the hand, super fast, great screen, great camera. I dare say it’s the best phone I’ve ever had.

Turn everything off until you need it: deny permissions, refuse notifications, etc.
When you need maps, it will say it needs to have access...so let it then turn it back off when you are done.
Don’t save history, don’t tell it anything.
Go thru you individual apps too and do the same thing for ones you do not need daily.
See if that helps.
Yes, that is sad. However, given my penchant for getting lost, I must use something.
You could always go Analog, and ask at a bank or veterinary hospital. Both good relatively safe places.
One can also use a dedicated GPS receiver for navigation. They are much better for that purpose.
We had a few of the Motorola phones back in the early 90s. They worked great and were indestructible.
Duck lip phones. After all, that’s what a lot of selfie takers do - pucker up!
It takes five watts of transmitter power to be sure of reaching a tower. A tiny implant will not have access to that sort of power. Those will be “near field” transponders.
