The first time I heard “Omicron” I thought it was a new Transformer villain. Before you laugh, I have a sneaking suspicion that COVID variants are named with an eye to creating alarm. Delta Force is a Special Forces unit involved in counter-terrorism, rescuing hostages, and reconnaissance missions against high-value targets. Delta Force is scary by design. The name Delta seems a good fit for a COVID variant that our government hopes to scare us with so they can exercise control over our lives.
I thought Omicron was a new Deception bent on destroying the human race. Considering that the powers-that-be want to frighten us into submission, maybe my first impression of the name is not that far off. Omicron’s most severe symptom seems to be a scratchy throat, but the president is broadcasting doom and gloom and a winter of death. California has responded enthusiastically by bringing back mask mandates, even though there is still no scientific data to support masks. It’s as if the government wants to convince us that Omicron really is something that is bent on destroying the human race, although I doubt a scratchy throat is going to kill anyone off.
I went shopping today for the first time since the new mandate took effect. As I entered the store, an employee waved a handful of masks and asked if I would like one. I said no, I would not.
She responded that most people are happy to put on a mask because they want to avoid infection. I told her that I believe in the vaccine, that it is safe and effective and will prevent illness, and just like that, she backed off like a vampire confronted with garlic.

If masks work why do we need a vaccine. If the vaccine works why do we need masks? If both work why does the virus keeps spreading and masked/vaccinated people keep getting covid?
If that doesn’t work then a polite “F-u” is in order. I’m so done with all this..
My response “Masks are magic and you have yours...”
When asked by a store clerk at Walmart last spring; “Where is your mask?” I responded;
“Back home on my bookshelf. Right next to my p***y hat.”
He went away.

I reckon the classic “I got yer mask RIGHT HERE!” grab response is unacceptable

I came across a fantastic analogy to give those who feel the unvaccinated are a threat to the vaccinated:

Only problem vaccine does not prevent you from getting the virus or passing it on,should have told them masks are useless,virus is airborne and those masks are anything but airtight

I could not believe the opticians in my area of Arkansas were so terribly tyrannical about mask wearing.
I wound up finally getting my eye exam and paying big bucks for my new glasses, in TEXAS, which was my fourth appointment!!
Yep, several places lost my business, because I definitely stood my ground. One of them actually escorted sweet little me OUT of their building!!
When I'm confronted with that question ‘Want a mask?’... I always answer in Greek.
Since I don't look WASPY, and since Liberal idiots lump all ‘non-wasps’ into their ‘immigrants’ category, they always get confused, embarrassed and then back off. They don't want to pressure any illegals about ANYTHING. One jerk even apologized! How stupid can you get....?

Here in GA everyone has stopped confronting about the mask except Panda Chinese take out. The girl was like “you need mask”. I ignored her and looked at the menu. Then I heard her tell the guy in the kitchen “ she no wear mask”. Finally they just took my order and STFU. 😆

They renamed it “Omicron” because “Nu” means “So What?” in Yiddish.
We can’t have people calling anything COVID “So What?”
