Breaking news this evening, as we are learning that the Sante Fe Police Department has obtained a search warrant for disgraced actor Alec Baldwin’s cell phone records.
This of course, comes as Baldwin faces more and more questions over the fatal movie set shooting that took the life of cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins.
Alec claims he didn’t pull the trigger.
Based on the mechanics of a firearm, we’re not quite sure how that’s possible.

Alec Baldwin was who Alec Baldwin had in mind when he pushed the need to keep guns away from crazy people. The one we know the best is ourselves.

Why? We already know the gun pointed itself and pulled the trigger.
But then it would stop at half-cock. He had to pull the trigger.
When this first happened, other freepers informed me that this reproduction gun comes in two versions. One version is exactly like the original and does not have a "half cock" position, and a later version that was made more safe by adding a "half cock" notch for the hammer.
If Baldwin had the earlier version of this gun, he could have pulled the hammer way past the half cock position and then let it fall.
A firing is virtually guaranteed if this is what happened.

The first version was exactly like the original gun, which had no safety "half cock" notch. In this version of the gun, the hammer will fall all the way if you pull it back almost to the cocked position.
The second version of the gun incorporated the later added safety notch to prevent the gun from firing without pulling the trigger.
For some reason other freepers didn't get the memo and continue to claim that you can't do that with this particular model of gun.
Well it depends on which version of the gun Baldwin had, doesn't it?
Hey, maybe they could get Donald J. Trump to play Alec Baldwin? Now that would be must see TV. It would also be poetic justice.
It reminds me of Jeff Chandler (not the FReeper LOL). I believe he was engaged to Esther Williams (the swimming star). On the night before their marriage, Chandler invited her over to "show her something". He slipped into his room, and appeared a few minutes later dressed as woman, complete with makeup and heels. Needless to say, Esther called off the marriage then and there.
Yes, there are a lot of people who continue to spread that claim. It turns out that it is not necessarily true, and depends on which version of the gun was used. The earlier versions could indeed fire by releasing the hammer. The later versions could not.
