If this what the Biden Administration had in mind? Soaring labor costs at the same time that labor productivity is falling to its lowest level since 1960?
Powell and the Gang’s monetary approach doesn’t seem to be working for the labor market …
But is working extremely well for asset prices.
Wall Street parties while Main Street suffers worst decline in productivity since 1960.

And the stock markets give a middle finger to all economic measures and statistics.
My parents had a rough time those years. Young married and three kids from ‘59-63.
And Brandon is just getting started.
Productivity falls when people are working too much, too long, too many hours or a long haul.
Too many have left the labor market and are most likely not coming back.
This is an indicator of severe stagnation in the economy. That’s the bad news.
Of those that have left the labor market, many are starting their own businesses...if enough are successful this is a blip. If too many regulations and madness mandates get in the way things will remain stagnant for another 3 years. The economy won’t survive that.
Uh, isn't falling productivity tied to increased labor costs?
This is a death spiral to chronic inflation. When productivity declines you have fewer goods and services being produced (shortage). When labor costs increase, what goods and services are being produced are more expensive (inflation). Bottom line to you and me: more mostly empty shelves, and what is there is more expensive. I am finding this already just going to the grocery store. What pisses me off most is when I can find a close substitute to what I can’t find, it larger and more expensive, without it being exactly what I want. I am getting used to going without.
A few more stimulus checks should fix things right up!
Wall Street is up from being down over the new virus scam.
It will digest this over breakfast tomorrow.
IMHO.
