People are not looking to the job as a place to work out race and gender issues.
Our company (defense contractor) did this starting back in the early 1990s. Anything “offensive’ was prohibited. This included politics. Of course, when Obama was elected, management turned a blind eye to the blatant celebrations that took place at work during his entire time in office.

Since its inception, “diverse” has been code for non-white and uncritically accepting any flavor of Leftist whacko-think.
Change jobs!
It is rampant everywhere now. It is increasingly hard to change jobs to get away from it.
I retired four years ago and thankfully left this BS behind. I was fortunate to have a career in a somewhat sane age...except that I was in the energy industry and was there for the inception and early growth of the “global warming” kookism that completely changed the industry.
The HR department at my last employer invited all employees to have Milk & Cookies on “Harvey Milk Day” in “honor” or Harvey Milk, the slain homo San Francisco Supervisor. I was thoroughly repulsed by that and left the company shortly afterward.
Having to endure a career in this hyperwoke world is such a dreadful idea.
Diversity should, in a non-weaponized-identity-politics-reality, provide a solution to some of the groupthink problems that plague organizations. With a team (I chose that word purposefully) of people with differing perspectives, it should be possible to arrive at better decisions. That is not our reality though, sadly.
Diversity assumes discrimination where none exists.
It punishes the innocent.
If a boy came into my office with pink hair and wearing a mini skirt I would grill him/her on qualifications and drive to succeed in the job I’m offering.
Beyond that I could care less.
However, it is the imagined bigotry of those who seek to be accepted that make them force the lie of discrimination on me.
It’s you Jill, not me.
Show me your resume’. Describe your accomplishments.
The rest in meaningless.
There is a simple way to avoid groupthink in corporations.
Kick the managers out of the room.
It works!
Diversity is woke code for our way or the highway. There is no place my person as an old white guy or my conservative belief is welcomed among those who throw around that “diversity’ nonsense.
Diversity and equity is just another way to give a job or money to people based on how they look, whether then claim to be a gender other than their birth gender or what their sexual preference is rather than on their skills or intellect.
It flies in the face or all reality. Diversity is a liability and always has been. There is no strength in being divided which is why the left spends all their time dividing us into ever smaller tribes.
That sounds about right.
It’s just plain stupid the way “diversity” is being promoted.
Diversity of what?
If you were responsible for running the Manhattan Project, would you want diversity of IQ on the team?
Would you build a team of basketball players based on diversity of height?
What a sloppy crock.
No. When I go to the grocery store I don’t want to hear more people speaking a foreign language than American. I am quite fine when I travel abroad with native tongues and native peoples. But that is ruined too. It’s a global problem and many places are losing their identities. As for gender diversity, there are two: male and female. No room for that anywhere either.

You're being asked to prove your loyalty to the party...or the ideology.
Corporations are setting themselves up for a hostile work environment.
Retired now—but in the good old days I was on teams that “did the impossible” on a routine basis—because we were allowed to “do our thing” without managers.
Our bosses job was to keep all the other managers out of our way while we actually got stuff done.
At some idiotic “team building” class I was forced to attend for a couple of days in the 90s, the word “diversity” came up. Poking the bear I asked what it meant. It was explained to me by a 20 something black woman in the class. “Diversity” she said, “means gettin’ rid of all those 50 year old white guys”
I looked around the room. There were a couple of us 50 year old white guys in the class. EVERYONE, male, female, white, black and brown was looking at the ceiling, their hands on the table or had their eyes closed. I just smiled, said “Thank you for the explaination”
From that point on in that class I just kept my trap shut and refused to participate. For the remainder of my time there I read newspapers or a book I had. I think the “facilitator” was glad I did. She, a 30 something white woman, must not have given me a bad write-up because I never heard anything about it.
Diversity is just a dog whistle for anything that hurts white people.
Sounds like a good gig :)
