Combine vaccine mandates that lower the workforce and the flood of economic and monetary stimulus by the geniuses in Washington DC, and we have a Thanksgiving problem.
Supplies of food and household items are 4% to 11% lower than normal as of Oct. 31, according to data from market-research firm IRI. That figure isn’t far from the bare shelves of March 2020, when supplies were down 13%.
For grocery shoppers this holiday season, it means that someone with 20 items on their list would be out of luck on two of them.
Although U.S. supermarket operators started purchasing holiday items early, aiming to avoid shortages, many holiday essentials are already in short supply.
Turkeys are very low in stock. By the end of October turkeys were over 60% out of stock—lower than the same time last year by more than 30 percentage points.
Even if you can find a turkey, prices on foodstuffs in general are up 36% from last year.
And to get to the grandparents’ house of Thanksgiving, gasoline prices (regular) are up 24.5% from last year.
You can always shop at Neiman Marcus for a half Thanksgiving dinner for … $376 + $32 shipping. Not for the average American, more for NYC and DC elitists like Biden’s OCC nominee Saule Omarova who wants to bankrupt energy companies.
Biden could lower inflation by 1) stop mandating vaccines, 2) stop shutting off energy pipelines and oil exploration, 3) stop spending trillions of dollars other than Social Security, Medicare and defense.
Frankly, Thanksgiving has gotten so expensive due to Biden’s Reign of Error that I am thinking of alternatives to turkey. Like a Jersey Mike’s turkey and provolone sub.

Boar’s Head roast beef $14.99 a lb.
That got my attention. Glad I’m hedged with energy and metals.
A small price to pay to relieve the stress Donald Trump caused the coastal elites.
This is all by design.
I hope that Boar’s head roast beef rots on the shelf.
For me it’s generic brands whenever possible and sometimes not buying specific products at all not only for Thanksgiving but for weekly groceries. For the most part I don’t buy snacks and desserts anymore. It feels like the Carter years all over again.
Why isn’t the Brandon Administration touting food prices like they did for July 4? Oops! BTW, has St. Fauci declared whether it is safe to gather for Thanksgiving?
Turkeys will be so short this year, that Biden won’t be able to pardon any.
During the economy shutdown of 2020, factories were closed, people were out of work and yet there were no problems with the supply chain, aside from some toilet paper hoarding; the was little inflation and gas prices were low.
Now with the economy and employment back up and running the supply chain, inflation and high energy prices have all of a sudden become a problem.
The only thing that has changed is the Presidency. Reduced regulations have given way to excessive regulations; energy independence is now energy dependence and shortages of materials and labor have caused prices to rise.
I have just returned from a 6 state visit to family for a family emergency that did not end well.
Prices are definitely WAY up! and my fixed pensions are not.
Judging from traffic I managed to hit Seattle, Tacoma, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Twin falls ID, and once again several times in the Seattle area TRAFFIC jams, People are still pretty busy doing something!
I’m now safely back at my “hobby farm”.
I will have a turkey for this Thanksgiving( I have two in the freezer) and the next few as I’m ordering some more chickens and turkeys from the hatchery( those prices have doubled!).
But for the city dwellers, Debt and traffic trapped people, I don’t have a lot of pity. You get the life you voted for and continue to support.
we’re not doing Thanksgiving this year in protest of the Dems destruction of America (since they’re making it darned near impossible anyway...)
My church gives away boxes of food for Thanksgiving. This year, the turkey has been replaced with a large chicken.
Saw a decent sized roast beef cut for $71 the other day.
At my local food emporium last week, there was one turkey. One. I was wondering if it was more widespread. Notes should taken by those running in the midterms. This is the sort of thing that makes people sore. If I were running in 2024, I’d be channeling Reagan, only with “Spring in America” after the long Biden winter.
They have a deli section where that have cold cuts already packaged. For the first time in my life there was no baloney of any kind. None.
Seems like a small inconvenience but baloney for crying out loud? That's like no peanut butter or jelly.
Don’t worry, Petey Buttplug is on the case. According to Petey the problem is: We The People’’. Yup, we greedy meat eating, gas guzzling SUV owning Bible thumpers and gun clinging types are buying up everything so if we just stop and think about our ‘’privilege’’ and how rapacious we’ve been of the environment and how nasty we’ve been to the carpet munchers and rump rangers and other assorted ‘’oppressed’’ freaks everything will be fine, yup, that’s what old Petey Buttplug says.
Oh and don’t expect anything for Christmas. You’ve all been bad because you hate LGTBQ people and you all still support Donald Trump.
And besides there’s nothing to buy anyway. The shelves are empty in case you haven’t noticed.
I don’t understand..
Our shelves are full, except for the entenmanns little donuts... they can’t keep them on the shelves, but the regular sized ones are plentiful.
Now prices......a whole nother thing altogether
