I've been cooking my bacon this way for years. Really makes a difference.

I like crispy bacon.

I prefer my bacon flexible. However, just for curiosity I did water cook my bacon longer than normal on one occasion until it was crispy and it still came out better than just slapping it direct on the skillet sans water.

Skeptics take note.

Hmmm, yes, I am skeptical. The Devine Mrs. Afterguard cooks bacon in the oven. It is the best ever.

I must be the only person in the universe that does it in an air fryer.

Collect the drippings for tomorrow’s fried eggs or also great for stir frying green beans.

Never throw away bacon drippings!!!

Exactly right! I always microwave my bacon; it’s perfect every time.

The object of frying is to render the huge amount of fat out of the tissue. You don;t get this?

I LOVE the crispy, crumbly, salty bacon, not something rubbery with the nitrates leached out!

Cooking it with a cheap beer ( the skunkier the better, think PBR ) also makes for very delicious bacon.

Can’t wait to try it!

Does he flip the bacon? (Video doesn’t show that).

Duck fat is indeed known to be the best for fried potatos. Expensive and a bit difficult to find, though.

Fat is rendered out while it is heating in the water. Also after the water is boiled off, it continues to be rendered out directly on the pan.

If you do this, though, you can’t cook fried eggs in the leftover grease afterwards.

Better yet is half a pound of strips separated on a ridged made-to-be-nicrowaved platter for 6 minutes, grease flowing to the low end afterward. Pick up with tongs and cut with kitchen scissors into lettuce/mashed-potato salad with Vidalia chips and malt vinegar/honey moistening , topped with Taco-blend shredded cheese. Toss and, Mmmmmhh!

Oh yes you can. In fact, after this video I fried 4 eggs in that pan in the leftover bacon grease.

Freeze bacon first thing! 1). Kills germs
2). Break in two, slices more manageable size ( BLT). 3). Slow cook frozen in oven (325, fan on)

Perfect hands don’t get greasy either
