I played a lot of Off Road, Defender, Battlezone, Astro Blaster, Galaga in the Golden age.

I know a few people who collect and refurb pinball machines, but I was never coordinated enough to play those so I have no favorite, but I appreciate the art and mechanism as I may a fine watch or automobile.

Played a lot of Cruisin’ and Cruisin’ USA. Don’t think I ever had the golf cart, though.

Back then, after a long day of working with some of my Big 6 comrades, I’d go watch a movie (I was on the road).

There was a Cruisin’ machine in the lobby...

Ms. Pac-Man comes off as slutty to me.
Is that odd?

The bar I worked at, we would have crowds, waiting for a table huddled around watching the action.

Boss loved it. Customers came back ate and drank, a played as well.

I was born in ‘87, but since I was real little, maybe four or five, we used to take annual summer trips to Indiana Beach. The resort we stayed at had arcade games (which we played when there wasn’t a hornet’s nest under the porch), and I had a fondness for Ms. Pac-Man. It was an upright console, which was hard for a six year-old, but a nearby restaurant called, “Trio’s” (if I remember correctly) had a seated two-player console. We loved that.

For those in the greater Phoenix area, Starfighters in Mesa is an exceptional retro video game/pinball arcade.

Everything was paid for when I was on the road pretty much. If not my corporate apartment, then my hotel, which had contintental breakfast, my rental car, my dinner ($30 to spent in the Midwest which was enough), airline tickets, parking at the airport.

So an extra $20 here and there didn’t matter. So, a few quarters.......heh....or $10+ lol.

Except for Spy Hunter, those are all Bally/Midway games. And Sega's arcade line was eventually bought out by Bally.

I betcha you have a "type" with the ladies as well.

I always liked the bowling game where you slid the puck down the table and the pins flipped up.

Starfighters in Phoenix recently got one of those. Restored from the mid-70s with all mechanical scoring.

Who remembers F-14 and the Firefox game which had a laserdisc in the video machine? About 1982.

In a household of girls, daddy didn’t see the need for game consoles :) I was and still am a bookworm. Youngest nephew learned patience trying to teach me some of his Xbox games. His nest comment, “I don’t think video games are for you” out of the mouths of babes..

El Dorado pinball!

Looks like fun. I like the placement of the drop targets and the open middle playfield. "Harlem Globetrotters" had progressive drop targets, where you had to knock down the first one to get to the second, etc. Very cool.
