Garland Just Tipped Over the Dominos
American Greatness ^ | 9 Oct 2021 | Roger Kimball

Parents across the country have suddenly woken up to the wokeness haunting their schools and poisoning the minds of their children.

Most parents don’t like that. They pay for the schools. The school board (in theory) works for them, and they, the parents, have been vocal in making their displeasure known. A left-wing lobbying group called the National School Boards Association complained to the Biden Administration that “Public Schoolchildren, Public School Board Members, and Other Public School District Officials and Educators” were subjected to “Threats and Acts of Violence” by parents whose actions “could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.” Note the surreal accusation that schoolchildren were being harmed by “threats and acts of violence,” which, if you look at the actual instances adduced, turn out to be people arguing against the insinuation of radical, politically charged ideas into the the curriculum.

Garland’s response was to threaten to unleash the law enforcement apparatus of the state against parents by forging a “Partnership among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement to address threats against school administrators, board members, teachers and staff.” What threats?

When I first wrote about this, I was unaware that Garland’s daughter Rebecca is married to Xan Tanner, the founder and president of Panorama, a multimillion-dollar company that sells CRT and related ESG materials to schools around the country. File that in the folder marked “optics” if not the one labeled “conflict of interest.”

Another thing I didn’t know when I first wrote about this story was that the pas-de-deux between the National School Boards Association and the attorney general was not fortuitous. On the contrary, as the always interesting “Neo” reports, it was more in the way of being a coordinated effort...

"School boards are in for a radical change in coming elections."

They rule with arrogance, suggesting that they have no fear of being voted out.

I have been a GOP committee member for many years. As the insidious creep of single-party politics has taken hold in our area, it has become harder and harder to get people to run for local (or county office). This year we were unsuccessful in recruiting any candidates for school board. People who considered running: 1) didn't want to put themselves and their school age children through the resulting abuse from local D's; 2) didn't believe they would participate in a free election. I have personally witnessed enough to agree with both points.

This is a very big and entrenched problem. I will continue to serve and to vote, but I feel like I'm treading water at this point. With such deep corruption (in both parties) it is difficult to get any traction. Moderate D's are encountering abuse as well, and therein may lie a small silver lining in our political cloud.

The National School Boards Association is listed as a national government sector lobbying association........organizations partly or completely funded by tax dollars, either with direct payments from government treasuries or via employee reimbursement for professional association dues.

What a disaster it would have been to have Garland sitting on the Court.

Especially instead of Gorsuch. He may not be Scalia, but I doubt he'd call out the FBI over spirited school board meetings.

I think we are seeing Garland's true character: a bridezilla left at the alter, seeking revenge on the wedding party.

Soviets act like this, if in Russia, China or here and now.

They claim everyone threatens them just for not wanting to go along while they ultimately do violence to everyone.

They will just change the name from CRT to something like Child Education Equity (ala Global Warming to Climate Change). Then they can blast parents for being against children. Problem solved.

Garland needs to be impeached for this, and all R’s need to band together now, and vow to do it in 2022.

Great reason to flip the House!

Oh, the Left still insist CRT is an ivory tower nothingsauce, just like they insist that Gramsky or the Frankfurt School were ivory tower nothingsause who aren’t the foundations of their ideology.

In fact, if you think about the actual origins of fascism — and not the self serving lies of the Left that want to cast fascism as somehow to the right of Classic American Liberalism and Adam Smith economics so that those are to be found somewhere between fascism and socialism … when they aren’t — as arising from Italian socialism when socialist became discouraged that socialism wasn’t delivering the goods you might see that the early fascist were doing exactly what Gramsky advised … but instead of giving up on a proletarian movement in favor of taking over the institutions of conveying culture as the Cultural Marxist did the fascist latched onto co-opting the old elites to try to achieve socialistic goals.

Further, despite all the self serving claims by the Left that socialism is borderless and fascism nationalist, the truth is that neither is inherently the case. The Marxist were all for Soviet nationalism and the Comintern was only against nationalism to the extent that nations were not subservient to the USSR. Likewise the ChiComs are hyper nationalist who have only swerved into a half hearted form of capitalism because they recognized they couldn’t become the world power with the economy Communism could provide … but once they think they’ve got their lusted after hegemony watch out!

We need a genuine opposition party to the progressive-corportist alliance. Nothing else matters until we get that.

Treading water is a great analogy. Meanwhile, every day patriots die and third world socialists arrive. This country is changing at a rapid pace and many do not want to face that truth.

By thinking the Democrats were really their friends underneath the rhetoric, rather than seeing them as the enemies they were, the Republicans took going along to get along from simple naivety to a nuanced form of backstabbing their base.

MacAuliffe in Virginia just said that CRT is not being taught in VA schools (it is) and that he wouldn’t define CRT and wasn’t going to talk about it anymore. We’ll find out in November just how stupid VA voters are.

“...they, the parents, have been vocal in making their displeasure known...”

Right-and better late than never...I guess

Are these the same parents who put liberal clowns in charge of the schools in their community??
