General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, prevented Donald Trump from invoking the Insurrection Act against Black Lives Matter during their 2020 riots.
Milley, according to Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s new book, ‘Peril,’ drastically minimized the riots to Trump, suggesting that they were mostly centered upon the use of “spray paint.”
Despite the violent protests spreading across the country like wildfire, Milley insisted that they had only impacted two cities and were peaceful, echoing CNN’s absurd description of the riots as “fiery, but most peaceful.”
“They used spray paint, Mr. President, that’s not an insurrection. […] We’re a country of 330 million people. You’ve got these penny packet protests,” Milley told Trump.
Milley reportedly informed Trump that most of the riots drew just about 300 people and that they paled in comparison to the 1968 Washington riots sparked by Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination and the Battle of Fort Sumter in 1861, which kicked off the Civil War.

“Tell me, how many millions of patriot conservatives voted for an open borders globalist like Bush, not once, but twice?”
I voted for George W, and his Daddy twice. Both times I held my nose in doing so. I knew the vote was for the lesser of two evils. Neither Bush appealed to me. The Yale educated wealthy father was an elitist globalist, completely out of touch with middle America. The son was a problem child who achieved “success” in business, and election to the governorship of Texas, thanks to the connections of his father. Had George W. Bush been born into an average family he would never have enjoyed success in business and politics. He isn’t a visionary or very bright. He was a puppet for the friends of his father (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powellwho filled the administration.
Millions of conservatives voted for the lesser of two evils in the 1990’s and 2000’s. With Trump showing it is possible to fight back, and win some battles, it will be interesting to see how the Republican base vote in 2022. Will the RINO’s be able to take the base for granted again. Or this time, will millions choose not to vote in an election between a leftist democrat and back stabbing RINO?
Trump endured 4 years of fighting the Washington establishment and many of the people he appointed to office. He made many poor personnel choices and their disloyalty eventually did him in. The question for 2024, should Trump run, is whether or not he can vet and name loyal people to a new administration. If he doesn’t not have that ability, he will fail again should he be reelected.
For those who say McConnell prevented him from hiring the people he wanted, I say BS. Trump was great using the bully pulpit. He never nominated someone without vetting with McConnell so he never tried. Had he wanted someone McConnell didn’t like, he could have told McConnell that if the Senate resisted confirming he’d go on the road to the public, it is very likely the pragmatic McConnell would have caved. McConnell is a back room operator. He fears dealing with the people, particularly the conservative GOP base, in the light of day. Trump could hit the road and ask the people to let their GOP Senators know what they think about the nominee. With tens of thousands of emails and phone calls coming into their offices, McConnells GOP Senators will fold like the empty suits they are.
“You cannot know who to believe, Woodward or the general.”
Yes you can, just listen to the words and it will dawn on you that it is an attempt to change history.
Trump offered to order the national guard into states, placing them on title 32 orders so the states were in charge of them and was even willing to pay for it using title 10 funds. The federal government cannot send troops into states for crime unless it is against federal property or federal assets or requested by the state governor or his back up.
“...drastically minimized the riots to Trump.”
Did Milley remove all the newspapers, reporters, televisions and radios from Trump? And Woodward and Costa want us to buy into that BS. Anyone with any electricity between their ears has got to call that an outright fabrication.
Believe what’s possible, supported by what’s already been established as fact. And the stupidity is further displayed when federal troops, the border patrol, was ordered in to protect federal buildings by arresting attempted fire bombers in Oregon. Trump was deceived??? My head ain’t in the sand.

At that point in the election cycle, it was not possible for Trump to fire him. It would have fed into the media’s caricature of Trump and would have dominated the news negatively, of course.
“When was the last time the Democratic Party made a mistake with a senior level appointment...”
Hilary Clinton - secretary of state and Kamala Harris - border overseeing are two to start with.

You voted for an open borders, America last sellout globalist twice? You obviously have very bad political judgement.
There is absolutely nothing similar about the impeachments.
He is, indeed.
LOL...And you're bad mouthing Trumps decisions? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
First, this is rewrite of the summit.news General Milley Downplayed BLM Riots to Prevent Trump From Invoking Insurrection Act article by Paul Joesph Watson with giving it proper credit. This is plagiarism. Providing just a link without making it clear that is the source is not a citation by itself. Both articles state:
"According to other reports, Trump wanted to invoke the Insurrection Act and put Milley in charge of National Guard troops to end the unrest, leading the two to have a shouting match where Milley refused to take charge."
The claim Milley stopped Trump from using the Insurrection Act comes from anonymous or uncited sources, not Woodward's book. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has no direct operation authority. If Trump wanted to invoke the Insurrection Act and Milley refused, Trump would have grounds to fire him for acting outside his authority.
There have been claims the President was going to invoke the Insurrection Act since ANTIFA and BLM, like this one from Gateway Pundit, IT'S HAPPENING: President Trump Plans to Invoke Insurrection Act to Remove Illegal Aliens From United States from May 16, 2019. For two years there were rumors from "trusted sources" Trump was going to invoke the Insurrection Act. He didn't.
So what we have is, Milley downplayed the riots and let the Democrats and CNN do his thinking for him. There is nothing to show Trump was going to clamp down on riots and no one tried to stop him.
Wow, your so smart! I’ll bet you would have done a much better job coming in from the outside. Besides being a president is such an easy job, right? I mean all you have to do is go to press conferences and sign bills and stuff. I’ll bet you’d be a great president because you seem to be soooo good at second guessing.
I have been greatly humbled as a result of my vote for GWB. It was foolish to so vociferously support a man who wouldn’t even defend himself.
Now he has the balls to attack those of us who want to clean up his messes.
Politicians are opportunistic scumbags who use us and move on with their rich lives.
All we can do is try to be better in the future.
there is a similarity in that it was a deep state op. Nixion was impeached by the actions of other. the Question has always been. When was nixion aware of a coverup and why the break in actualy happend. Nixion did try to cover up but impeachment was never about the coverup it was just a predicat for removal and if social media was around back then it would of fallen apart as more info came out about why the breakin happend.
The general is a Chinese agent and so is BLM. They need to be rounded up and shot for treason (after a fair trial of course$
“They used spray paint, Mr. President, that’s not an insurrection. […] We’re a country of 330 million people. You’ve got these penny packet protests,” Milley told Trump.
Set fire to a church and rioting in major cities burning and looting, not insurrect. Jan 6th - the DC cops let protesters in and they stayed behind velvet ropes INSURRECTION!
Got it. Love visiting Clown World!

DC is completely corrupted. It is time to defund DC. There is not one agency that deserves our respect or trust. Each and every one of these agencies has been weaponized against the very people it is required to serve.
Without reforming the Fed govt by cutting off the money going there. We ‘ll continue to live in a banana republic where the elections are rigged and the media is like the KGB.
In plain English - believe Woodward or believe Milley really did what Woodward says he did?
Invoking in the Insurrection Act against the wishes of a governor would have been completely out of line, and a political disaster for Trump as well.
***I don’t see it that way at all. America would have rewarded him with a landslide.
You're forgetting that The Swamp is populated by the most gifted sociopaths in the country - and possibly the world, zeestephen...
“Milley insisted that they had only impacted two cities and were peaceful, echoing CNN’s absurd description of the riots as “fiery, but most peaceful.”
The whole country knew that wasn’t true at the time. I assume Trump did as well.
Trump made horrible choices for just about everything. I think this is partially due to the fact that his advisors, such as they were, were also not DC insiders, and partially to the fatal “Bush Syndrome” - make nice to your enemies, trust them, and they will reciprocate.
GW Bush started off well in a lot of ways, but then wanted to placate the Dems who were furious that he’d won. So he “reached across the aisle,” trying to get Dem cooperation. They responded by biting his hand off, and he responded by holding out the stump to them again.
Trump made a big show of treating his Dem enemies as honorable persons…but they weren’t and they didn’t reciprocate, they just saw weakness and closed in for the kill.
On the other hand, he was very severe and caustic with anybody in the GOP who opposed him or even mildly disagreed, and I think this cost him a few allies who might have been very useful to him. Like most GOPers, he spent more time attacking fellow party members than attacking Democrats.
He tolerated too much garbage. Nancy Pelosi should have been out of her Speaker’s seat and even out of Congress the second she smirkingly tore up the SOTU. And I think if he had responded, he would have gotten support from surprising sources. But like Bush, he deferred to them too much.
He himself was great, inspiring and likable, and all of his initiatives (presumably inspired by his few good picks, such as Pompeo) were excellent.
But these faults brought him down and allowed the reign of Fauci/Pelosi and what can only be described as the coup attempt launched by Milley.
