General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, prevented Donald Trump from invoking the Insurrection Act against Black Lives Matter during their 2020 riots.
Milley, according to Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s new book, ‘Peril,’ drastically minimized the riots to Trump, suggesting that they were mostly centered upon the use of “spray paint.”
Despite the violent protests spreading across the country like wildfire, Milley insisted that they had only impacted two cities and were peaceful, echoing CNN’s absurd description of the riots as “fiery, but most peaceful.”
“They used spray paint, Mr. President, that’s not an insurrection. […] We’re a country of 330 million people. You’ve got these penny packet protests,” Milley told Trump.
Milley reportedly informed Trump that most of the riots drew just about 300 people and that they paled in comparison to the 1968 Washington riots sparked by Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination and the Battle of Fort Sumter in 1861, which kicked off the Civil War.

Bob Woodward is a tool of the CIA, and was given fame early by being the conduit through which the FBI and Democrat Party took down Nixon
He’s been milking that past celebrity ever since.
When are you running for anything?
DC is completely corrupted. If you can do better than dammit, do it.
I don’t believe this.....Trump watches TV.
"Deep Throat" was Mark Felt - the #2 executive at the FBI.
How many on this site voted for and supported an open borders globalist like Bush?
How about you?
Generals are world class butt kissers. No one can shmooze like a General or Admiral.
Lying to a president should be treason
“If true, this is completely Trump’s fault.”
I agree. In addition to the reasons you stated, Trump was advised by his Secretary of Defense (Mattis) and the outgoing Joint Chiefs Chairman not to appoint Milley. Trump should also have looked at the fact Milley was educated in a private high school then went to two Ivy League (i.e. leftist) schools for bachelor and masters degrees. He was not a West Point grad.
Milley swayed Trump in a personal conversation even though the evidence and counsel of others was not to choose him. Milley was Trump’s choice, and in hindsight an extremely poor choice.
Trump was surrounded by backstabbing insiders, sellouts, spooks and traitors from day one.
Tell me, how many millions of patriot conservatives voted for an open borders globalist like Bush, not once, but twice?
Of course he did.
Please stop with that non sequitur nonsense.
If you can make a serious argument as to why Trump should have appointed Milley, I will be happy to read it and comment.

I for one would like to know who convinced President Trump to pick the likes of Milley, Bolton, Tilley, Barr, Sessions, Wray, McMaster, Mattis, Allen, Esper and others.
It appears to me that Trump’s inner circle had Deep State operatives who worked to ensure other Deep State operatives or sympathizers were placed in key positions.
wall, blindfold
Of course I voted for Bush.
Since 1972, I have voted for the most Conservative Presidential candidate who has a realistic chance to win the election.
During my life time, that candidate has ALWAYS been the GOP nominee.
Who did you vote for in 2000 and 2004 that had a realistic chance to win the election - Al Gore and John Kerry?
By the way - my #1 issue at Free Republic has been Immigration since 2005.
I was part of the Free Republic insurrection that destroyed the Bush-McCain Amnesty.
That’s the price (or punishment) you pay for not taking effective control where you have it and getting rid of a poor performer: more, and often more dangerous, problems in the future.
For the same reason Trump never fired FBI’s Wrey. Trump was not a career politician so I believe he relied “experts” in his administration who recommended people to fill his administration and top positions of offices like the DOJ. I also believe that many of them giving Trump advise were in the deep state and recommended people who wanted to help oust him.
You either pick out of a list of some 10 presently serving 4 star flag officers who have held combat commands and are thus eligible to be chair of the JCS or you go deep and fire everyone above the guy you are going to promote. Doing so greatly disrupts the established order. Eventually Linconl did it. Roosevelt / George Marshall did it at the beginning of WWII. Otherwise it is not par for the course.
Sue the buzzard for property damages incurreed via BLM!!
