Joe Biden finally gave his big Afghanistan presser this afternoon. Arriving five hours late for the event, the President took the stage. His eyes were bloodshot and glazed over with his pace of speaking obviously labored as he began to robotically read the teleprompter.
What then transpired was one of the most insulting, tone-deaf spectacles I’ve ever seen from a president. Instead of getting right into the crisis in Afghanistan, Biden inexcusably began the presser by plugging his “Build Back Better” agenda.
No, I’m not kidding. It was absolutely surreal.
Biden: "Before I update you on the meeting that I had with the leaders of the G-7 earlier today, I want to say a word about the progress we're making on the Build Back Better agenda here at home…"
I think he meant how his #BuildBackBetter agenda is actually for the Taliban…. pic.twitter.com/mUu4S4mMj5

Biden would go on to spend minutes talking about the “climate crisis” and bragging about Democrats passing a “voting rights” bill (that will die in the Senate). Before he even mentioned the disaster unfolding in Afghanistan, he praised Nancy Pelosi for her work on the budget bill and claimed that he had produced 4 million jobs. It was disgustingly disconnected from reality.
Later, Biden would finally move to the issue of the day. At that point, he lied about today’s call with the G7 leaders, claiming they were supportive and standing shoulder to shoulder with him on his withdrawal from Afghanistan. That’s contrary to public reports that the Brits and Germans are furious at what is going on and are begging us to extend the timeline because they can’t get everyone out in time.
Here were Biden’s comments on that matter.
And we had a productive discussion. There were strong agreement among the leaders about both about evacuation mission underway, as well as the need to coordinate our approach to the Afghanistan as we move forward first on evacuation, we agree that we will continue to close our close cooperation to get people out as efficiently, as safely as possible. We are currently on a pace to finish by August 30. The sooner we can finish, the better. Each day of operations brings added risk to our troops….
…At the same time, we renewed our humanitarian commitment to the Afghan people and supported a proposal by the Secretary General GRA, terrorist of the United Nations, led an international response with Unfettered humanitarian access in Afghanistan. Third, we talked about our mutual obligation to support refugees and evacuees currently fleeing Afghanistan. The United States will be a leader in these efforts, and we’ll look to the international community and to our partners do the same. We’re already seeing our allies commitment. They’re bringing to their countries.
The gaslighting followed a pattern of Biden doing the same over the last several weeks. He continues to act as if everything is going well, reciting his talking points. In fact, much of today’s speech was lifted from the speech he gave a week ago. He blamed Trump, he talked about killing Osama Bin Laden, and he insisted that our allies were absolutely fine with everything occurring. It was like Groundhog Day.
As I said, his eyes were bloodshot and glazed over. It was difficult to even see the whites of his eyes at times. His presentation was cold, with no empathy to be found. Upon finishing his teleprompter reading, he simply stumbled out, taking no questions, clearly unable to physically and mentally do so. It was obvious why he was five hours late for this presser. Something is bad wrong with the president, and there’s no way it can be ignored anymore.
Right now, we have the emergency in Afghanistan playing out, and that’s first and foremost. Thousands of Americans are trapped and ISIS and Al Qaeda are on the rise again. But long-term, the fact that we do not actually have a president will become the most pressing matter. The United States is a rudderless ship, drifting along as our stature in the world collapses. Americans, including the media, better start paying attention because our enemies dang well are.
Limeys and Krauts got the prez they all wanted. That covid BS needed cowbells from America.
He lost the election. He knows he lost and is a total fraud but that’s nothing new. He has been a total fraud his entire life. He used his big smile and gift of gab (BS) to get ahead in politics.
Weakness invites aggression. I do not know what will happen after this crisis ends, whenever that is.
He can blame Trump all he wants. But the American people is not going to care. He's the President. The buck stops with him. If he can't handle it, he needs to resign and allow Kamala Harris become the President.
They did get the President they wanted, but I don’t think they or anyone else thought that he, or whoever is pulling his puppet strings, would be this bad.
At this point, we’re past COVID and anything else. While I don’t have a whole lot of sympathy for many that find themselves “behind enemy lines”, there are some folks there who could potentially pay the most serious price for this ineptitude and malice.
As stated, the two countries need to fend for themselves and put CornPop in the rearview mirror.
I don’t think Biden knows where he even is most of the time besides that he’s still alive.
I’m sure even the Communist and leftist can see this guy needs to hit the I Love Lucy reruns and the easy chair. Maybe they’re waiting for him to fall all the way down the steps of Air Force One on national television. Maybe install an elevator he can shuffle on and off of.
What is that from?
Reports are the taliban now refusing airport entry to westerners
This crisis is going to last, I’m thinking. At least until the Taliban gets the money it wants. Then they’ll be another one and another one. Read that the military is already leaving. Deadline is 6 days from now. I don’t want any of them to be there, but they have to be. And my prayers are going out to the last one or two plane loads of grunts. They’re going to be the most vulnerable to an ISIS or Al Queda attack.
The bad guys know that they will suffer not one consequence for anything they do.
And, unless a miracle happens, they’ll have thousands of Americans and other foreign nationals spread out, throughout Kabul, in addition to the civilian Afghani’s, to make any kind of military strike out of the question.
Those folks will become hostages. Very expensive hostages. And the Taliban will get their ransoms, for sure. No other way around it.
I watched as much as I could of Jocko Willink on Fox. His idea was to retake the country, basically. Fine. Let him. Let him and his boys start landing planes and running off of them. And as those planes land, thousands of innocent folks, from the US UK Germany France, get their throats cut or are shot where they’re standing.
CornPop, or whoever planned this train wreck, has painted the world into a corner.
And just wait til all that heroin, meth and hash starts pouring into this country via, what used to be the southern border, and all the containers from Chinese cargo ships. We’re going to be overwhelmed.
Oh Man, what you said! Kudos for the thought!
RE: the Brits and Germans are furious at what is going on and are begging us to extend the timeline because they can’t get everyone out in time.
But we are already doing that... we are BEGGING the Taliban to extend the timeline. In fact, our CIA director was in effect, begging them for mercy... but it’s the TALIBAN you’re talking to, not some civilized entity.
It’s both parties together going back 30 years. Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama was one 28 year term that gutted the American way of life.
And, if reports are right, no Afghani’s are allowed to leave. If true, then anyone wanting to get their interpreter buddy is SOL.
If they do let Afghani’s leave, I’m about 100% positive that for any ‘normal Afghani’ getting on a plane, there is going to be at least one or more savages that used to be in one of their prisons. A time reminiscent of the Mariel Freedom Float. And lets not forget about all the ISIS and Al Queda that were able to slip into the dark and not get caught by the US military or their new recruits. Potentially, all on their way to SmallTown, USA.
Sure it’ll work out ok. Gonna totally adapt to the American way of life. Sure.
I’ve looked at the recording and it looks like just about every appearance recently, no worse
That’s not what I said.
I said that the Brits and Germany need to go direct with the Taliban. Forget about the US. They’re the Shot Callers in this whole thing. They need to come to terms that they cannot rely on the US for anything. Not the CIA Director groveling or CornPop.
They have to realize that they have no friends in DC and are dealing with a group of folks that are so bad at their jobs, they make amateurs look and sound like Jedi Masters.
If I were a betting man, I’d bet that the Taliban might allow the Brits and Germans to get their folks out and, only, their folks. Try to sneak an American and all bets are off. As a sign of good will. As far as the Taliban knows it the US, has always been the US and always be the US.
The Taliban smacks around the UK or Germany, who cares? No one notices. Plus, they have people there and more headed that way.
The Taliban smacks around the USA and the entire world is paying attention. It doesn’t matter how many aircraft carriers, F35s, Delta Force Operators, X Wing Fighters or light sabers the US has, the only thing the world sees is, the most powerful nation on the planet getting played by folks that wipe their butts with their hands.
Soap opera titles to describe this clownshow:

… that’s all i’ve got
I was on my treadmill watching TV when Biteme came on with his BS presser. I saw him "stumble" out towards the door with my own eyes! I said to myself, WTH? Yes, stumble or wavering are the correct words as he looked for the exit. Five hours late; BS comments; uhs and ums aplenty; squinty eyes staring straight at the teleprompter; swaying towards the exit; taking no questions again, this man is obviously physically ill.
