We need to rub Democrats’ noses in the fact that they are responsible for the horrors in Afghanistan, as well as the decay in the U.S.
On January 7, one day after the protest at the Capitol, I got a text from my closest friend of twenty years. Before I go into the text, she always knew I was a conservative and I always knew she was a Democrat. We focused on our lives rather than on our politics and it was a really wonderful friendship.
Throughout the four years of Trump’s presidency, no matter what false and wildly partisan things she posted on Facebook, I ignored that.
I ignored her mindless statements about “climate change,” statements that were utterly devoid of rationality but that relied solely upon the new morality of the Church of St. Greta of Thunberg.
I ignored when she made an annual trek to the streets wearing her stupid pink “pussy hat,” to protest a man who did nothing more than state — quite accurately — that, if you’re rich and powerful, a whole lot of women will allow you to do anything.

We have similar friends, a married couple. The difference is that ours are simply unaware of the realities of the time. We asked them yesterday where they get their news. The answer was”NPR and CBS. They know nothing of Afghanistan other than “it was Trump’s plan”. They are not even aware there was rioting in Portland. They believe January 6 was an insurrection. We blame the media, not them personally.
If I still had FB I would post that meme on my lib friend page. Well, we used to be friends. We work at the same place.
We had a debate over Trump. I mean she screamed her opinions at me and not allow me to respond. I had to walk away and haven’t spoken to her since.
If I lived in Tampa, I would start protesting outside the gates of McDill Air Force Base, and ask why General McKenzie left $85 billion worth of taxpayer funded equipment behind.
Sometime this year a lance corporal will receive non-judicial punishment for losing field gear out on a exercise, which is ridiculous compared to what An entire military staff lost: the equivalent of six aircraft carriers.
I have a friend like that too. Screamer. and while she has a very very sweet side she is now getting a taste of her own medicine with one of her sons with a drug addiction

I have another couple who were for Biden with the same issue a daughter who will never be rehabbed and in fact prostituted herself she has had many opportunities to come clean and Lord knows how much money they’ve spent. but yet they still voted for Joe Biden

So true. I have to remind friends that the local news gets their marching orders from the Corporate headquarters. ie. NBC, CBS etc. The seeds are sown re the narrative, and then the talking heads come on Holt, etc, and further fan the flames.
Those of us who grew up with Cronkite, Dan Rather, Mike Wallaceetc now know that their “ honesty” was tainted by the same scheme.
The big difference of today and then is we don’t have to rely on print media anymore.
Sites like FR give us the opportunity to read various accounts, gather info, and make real informed decisions rather than rely on “ catch phrase/ideas/memes” that pass for journalism

You can’t talk to these people either — they simply can’t grasp anything that has not been spoon fed to them. They never question anything the corporate media tells them no matter how bizarre or self-contradictory.
Trying to educate them is like trying to explain color to someone born blind.

It is pointless arguing with that, with a petulant child, it is like they did not learn anything in school about discourse, I just push them out of my life and say no more to them, dealt with that before never again.
It is impossible to debate with - let alone argue with - Democrats, including those who voted for Biden. I’ve found them to be smug, arrogant and impervious to reason, logic or common sense. It truly is a cult.
It has riven my own family - those who follow Democrats do so b/c they believe Republicans and Trump are the cause of all evil in the U.S.

Inflation? Trump’s fault
Gas prices soaring to $5.00/gallon? Trump’s fault.
And they will scream and yell and go into a frenzy to defend their warped ideals and shut down anything you might have to say about Conservatives.
All I can do is avoid these people, even if they are family members.
It’s called cognitive dissonance. Cognitive meaning what you acquire as knowledge. Dissonance meaning some knowledge that refutes what you believe. Liberals do not merely live in a TV bubble but when presented with contrary information, their beliefs get stronger, not weaker. This can also be called denial. This is why you cannot rationally discuss politics with the Left (or in some cases the Right). Conservatives have Fox News but are bombarded with Leftist news everywhere else including on Fox News. There is a social class aspect to this: those in the Knowledge Classes (lawyers, teachers, news reporters, some doctors and nurses, some priests, etc.) believe they have morally superior knowledge to the great mass of unwashed people in the working class (Blacks, Hispanics, tradesmen, housewives, people who read the Bible, etc.). But those in the Knowledge Class are dependent on self-serving abstract ideologies that preserve their privileges, social status and higher compensation. Those who are in the Independent Business and Working Classes live in a more concrete world. There are now two classes: the TV class and the alternative media class (radio, internet, books, etc.).
