BIDEN LOST THE AFGHAN WAR

The American intelligence community said Kabul would fall in 90 days.

Instead, it was four.

On Saturday, the Afghan president said he stood resolute against the Taliban.

On Sunday, he fled the country.

The American president said we would pull out on September 11. His ambassador struck the flag and abandoned the embassy on August 15.

The United States said it would stand with the Afghan government and people.

That’s ending in beheadings and firing squads, and the assignment of little girls and newly widowed women to their new Taliban “husbands.”

Call them Biden Brides.

And call the botched withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan the worst embarrassment for the United States since the helicopter lifted off the embassy roof in Saigon. America is a good ally if you’re France and it’s 1945. But other than that, Uncle Sam is kind of a flake.

And America’s military standing in the world is in the wind.

Which means the globe totters in the balance, as China and Russia and various criminals and jihadis move to carve up what they’re going to carve up.

Because weakness invites attack. More precisely, history teaches, weakness guarantees attack. The wolves circle the old bull and there’s no question how it’s going to end.

That’s where Biden’s America looks to stand today, as our pullout seems to have come down on their terms. Where our triumphant return home comes with a load of buckshot in the ass.

We served honorably for 20 years and in the last two months that all got thrown away. We went to Afghanistan to assert our strength against our enemies, and we are leaving Afghanistan in a fashion that advertises our weakness to the world. It seems that the brain trust atop the American government thought a military drawdown amounted to little more than buying some plane tickets home.

And so it is that everything that was gained over 20 years of effort evaporates in a week. Afghanistan’s shot at modernity slides back into an Islamist dark ages. Welcome to the caliphate. Like a dog to its vomit and a hog to its mire, Afghanistan has reembraced its true nature.

Yes, Afghans will fight, but not for freedom or family, only for faith. Only for jihad.

And that’s their choice. Think of it as picking their pronoun. They are free to be who they want to be.

And we were right to come home. But we should have known that if you don’t leave intelligently, you sow seeds of chaos and evil – Obama taught us that in Iraq. And it seems Biden is renewing the lesson in Afghanistan. Obama gave us the Islamic State, and who knows what whirlwind Biden will give us.

We didn’t even destroy our equipment. We left billions of dollars worth of state of the art military equipment that has now fallen without a whimper into the hands of tyrants and terrorists. They drive our vehicles and shoot our guns and use our ammunition. We hoped to leave hospitals and schools. Instead we gave them barracks and bunkers.

Yes, the Afghanistan war was a success. We changed the venue in the war on terror, we defended the American homeland. They wanted to fight our civilians in our country, we got them to fight our warriors in theirs. For 20 years we bled them on their own ground. For 20 years the mothers of militant Islam sent their sons to Afghanistan – or Iraq – to face the infidel, and we stacked them up like cordwood.

But we didn’t kill enough of them.

Because they have moved powerfully in recent weeks, rolling faster than Sherman through Georgia or Patton through Europe. That is a credit to their ability, and the unwillingness of the Afghan government and people to resist, and a proof that America’s top brass has its head up its ass.

I guess the Pentagon was so busy looking for extremism in its ranks that it couldn’t see it in its enemy.

And their flag flies and ours is folded or burned.

And you can add the name of whoever commands the Taliban to that of Ho Chi Minh and the various Iraqi and Somali warlords who have beaten the United States in a war.

Joe Biden is too senile to understand the danger his incompetence has created. Or the fact that the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11 will see the world exactly where it was back then – with the Taliban in power in Afghanistan and the United States fat, stupid and ripe for the picking.

He didn’t just lose it. He surrendered after winning

I must say, the Taliban’s planning on this was superb, going for the jugular when all of DC and the Biden administration are on vacation.

REALITY CHECK-——NY Post Miranda Devine asked President Trump Sunday about the plan his administration had to get out of Afghanistan —which ultimately was obstructed by the same US generals who gave Biden a green light.

“We were going to not let people get slaughtered,” Trump said flatly. “I wanted to get out. But you have to get out safely and you have to get out with respect . . .

“We had all sorts of conditions . . . All civilians were going to come out before the military. Everyone should have been out before they took our military out . . .

“I was going to close this ridiculous embassy they spent a billion dollars on and move everybody out . . .

“I was going to blow up every military base [before we left]. I was going to take out every single piece of equipment. I said I don’t want anything left [apart from] leave each soldier a gun . . .

“Plus, I had a relationship with the Taliban where they knew they weren’t allowed to do this. They understood they were going to get hit very hard . . . What I had was conversations with the [Taliban] leadership where I said if you do anything we were going to hit them like they haven’t been hit before.”

Trump’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who began negotiating with the Taliban in February 2020 to lay down conditions for a US withdrawal, has corroborated Trump’s version of events.

Pompeo was in the room when Trump warned the Taliban’s senior negotiator, Mullah Baradar, that if a single American was hurt or threatened the entire wrath of American power would rain down on them.

“We never trusted the Taliban,” he told Fox News Sunday. “We made abundantly clear . . . we weren’t going to allow them to just walk away from any deal that they had struck. We were going to go crush them, we were going to impose real costs on them. We weren’t going to let them take these provincial capitals. They understood that American power was going to come to their village, to their community, to their friends and family.”

You can bet the Taliban believed Trump would make good on his threat. (h/t Miranda Devine NY Post)

Sherman did not move fast through Georgia

He took significant casualties in the beginning and when tasked with burning out women and children he took his time .

Unwinnable, perhaps. The problem here is that the withdrawal was done very poorly.

Everybody on the world stage sees how weak a person Biden is, except the Democrats. There is no respect for him, and no respect for the U.S.

With Trump at the helm, that was different. Because they didn’t know what he would do, other nations didn’t want to push him.

Biden is a pushover pansy-@ss. That’s why this debacle is happening.

What a shame.

We “lost it” as we were getting in to it. Not having a clear objective and solid RoE... we were doomed from the start.

“Nation building” has NEVER worked for us.

China now controls almost all the rare earth elements in the world.

We can kiss our high tech industries good bye.

Our silly 'Afghan strategy' was to free up girls and women so they could pretend they were living in suburbs around DC... While attempting that silly goal, we ignored rare earth elements. We ignored everything that mattered to the interest our our country.

The result?

Biden and liberal 'elites' failed on every level... in every way... Afghan women worse off - raped or murdered, and our country weakened and debased...

What fools. De-fund the Pentagon.

China’s ambitions for centuries has always been what they can claim that comes or has to do with the land.....resources, food and all that sustains life. Also how they conducted their wars.

I’m seeing a lot of healthy military-age Afghani men running around in that GIF. Maybe they should be protecting their women instead, defending their nation instead.

The loss of Afghanistan is obvious....their military isn’t willing to die for their country or it’s people...never was.

The Afghan military wasn't willing to die for OUR IDEA of what their country should be... BIG DIFFERENCE.

Few of us would want to die for what liberal 'elites' in DC would make our country into either. The biggest problem we face is an incentivized system that gives us the kind of 'leaders' we have now.(but that's a different subject for a different day)

Old culture ideas that have saved China for centuries... many touches of wisdom involved...

China’s policies and political behavior reminds me of the Qin Dynasty under Emperor Ying Zheng. Mindset and agendas are very similar and how they advance and take over.

You might call it touches of wisdom I call it trickery and deceit. They are a cunning bunch....very polite and professional with a dagger behind their back and a slippery tongue.

You cannot modernize nor change a society that doesn't want to. Most Afghans are illiterate so even if they enjoy they might enjoy comforts of modern society and to have them they don't have the capability of sustaining them without outside assistance. I watched the Taliban in a weight room, and at an amusement park. They really are backward in many ways. That doesn't mean they can't learn. But as was said of their army..to teach them even what a number was to read gives you an idea the difficulty they had in training their military at an leadership level.
