Am looking for experiences from Freepers that have had covid-19. I have put this up one other time, Freepers are not here all of the time and browsing habits can vary. If you have already answered please disregard this post. I will publish the results from both polls, removing the top 10% and the bottom 10%. I had it with my wife and 5 kids in February.

Thank you for your time and be blessed!

PS: I should probably do one on vaccines and reactions as well, in time.

My daughter and grandson had it. She was ill about 6 days and missed two weeks worth of work. 12 year old grandson was ill about 4 days. Unusually long duration for someone his age.

My wife got it in March. Tested positive Sick at home for two weeks. Very miserable. I initially tested negative, then I got it half way through. Tested positive. I was sick for one week. We both recovered at about the same time. I was not as sick as she was. Worked at home, as usual, didn’t miss a day, did work some reduced hours. We both have tested negative since, no lingering effects. No vaccines for either of us — I’m not messing up my natural immunity with any sort of experiment mRNA crap.

My son had it in early Spring. He is 20. It was a mild cold for him.

I never caught it. I kept him sequestered on the other side of the house for about a solid week.

Though, the morning he started feeling sick (sore throat, congestion) I did drive in the car with him for about an hour total. We got up early and went somewhere. He often is stuffed up in the morning and didn't realize he was actually getting sick for a couple of hours.

I think I had it 15 months ago

Having the blood antibody ...the big draw not the prick ....test done mañana

To determine about vaccines

A new true vaccine is coming...

Tested positive, was exposed to two people who also tested positive and had symptoms. I developed symptoms...headcold for 4-5 days. Bad headache to start and took Advil once. No respiratory issues but had funny nasal sensation like chlorine pool water up nose. Never lost sense of smell or taste. Worked on yard work outside while isolating for 10 days. I have had seasonal allergies/sinus issues worse.

one of the people who were also invected had a low grade fever for 5 days and it broke. He had a few comorbidities but got thru it. Then he gets vaccinated about 6 months later (Pfizer) and had to admit to me the first shot side affects were worse than actual COVID. Wiped him out. Second shot not as bad but then about 3 weeks later he developed Shingles and has been suffering with it for more than two months now.

Went on a trip with my daughter and about 5 days later my muscles were aching. The next day my muscles really hurt and fatigue set in; got tested that day and the next day it came back positive.

There were no other symptoms except extreme fatigue and muscle aches. My doctor prescribed a kit of several drugs and I took zinc, quercetin, palmitoylethanolamide (to prevent any neuroinflammation), vitamin C and vitamin D. After four days the fever broke and fatigue lasted two weeks.

Meningitis, pneumonia and getting run over by a car were far worse experiences.

Six days ago I left Florida, which was very crowded and nobody was masked. This time I do not feel sick—hopefully natural immunity kicked in if I was exposed to the virus.

I was in Chinatown in SF late December 2019

Jan 4th, hit with high fever and nausea PLUS coughing, congestion. vertigo/headache intermittently

Basically a very bad flu and a very bad cold at the same time. No sense of smell or taste for about a week; actually very *strange* smell and taste for a bit after that. Meat and potatoes and other good stuff smelled disgusting.

I was quite sick for four days, up and ambulatory by the 5th day and back at work by the 11th.

My long capacity and power were diminished quite severely; I had run a half marathon in 2:20 a month before, I wasn’t able to run for three weeks and it took several months to get back to being able to do 10K. I’m still not where I was as far as longer distances.

Age: 59, weight at the time: 195 height 6’.

How do you remove "the top 10% and the bottom 10%" of these inputs?

I believe my wife and I both had it twice.

In Jan 2020 I travelled from Austin to Cincinnati and after I got home I had a very mild flu for a couple of days. This was pre-covid scare and I remember I was a little freaked because I'm and ex-smoker (10 years) and I had shortness of breath - I'd never had that before. About a week later my wide comes down with "the worst flu of her life" with severe stomach issues.

In Dec 2020 we both had diagnosed cases of Covid. I had symptoms on par with an average flu, was in bed for 5 days. My wife had no symptoms other that loss of taste.

I believe the first case her immune system learned to identify the virus, while mine did not. I believe we both now have robust natural immunity.

I had it July 2020, got pneumonia and spent 9 days in the hospital. I got the Remdisivir treatment and insulin as my blood sugar shot up higher than ever. The good news is that I lost 20 lbs and have kept it off since, as well as keeping a daily exercise regiment. I see no need to get vaccinated, at least not this year.

I haven’t had it but my brother in law in Missouri did back in January. 78 yr old guy, fairly healthy working 4 days a week at Lowes (likely where he caught it) plus running a lawn care business with two employees. He was on a vent for 3 weeks which has really hurt his health and will likely spend the rest of his life in a nursing home. Both his lungs and his brain are affected.

These are the patients who “survived” but don’t show up at the .3% that “die”.

Had it in November.

Lost my sense of smell. Maybe some tiredness. No fever.

Wife also had it. Fever. Cough. Tiredness.

If it hadn’t been in the news, I would not noticed I was sick.

Wife was hit harder.

As of two weeks ago, still have antibodies. Doc suspects I was exposed within the least three months and knocked it out of my system.

Had it in January. Caught from my son during Christmas dinner at his house. My son had basically no symptoms except loss of taste and smell for about a week. He tested positive.

I had low grade fever (99.8) for about 36 hours, followed mild sinus congestion. I never lost taste or smell. Back to work after my 10 day voluntary quarantine. I also tested positive. Took Ivermectin after symptoms had already receded. I couldn’t tell any difference.

My wife then caught it, had very annoying sinus congestion, no fever, but tested positive. She lost taste and smell for several months. It is slowly returning but still not back to normal, but otherwise she is fine.
