What gets me is this passive-aggressive, HAL-9000 voice when Twitter locks or bans accounts. Why can’t they just come out and say “We nuked your account. Bye Felicia!” Why do they have to be all nice guy about it?
Science is meant to be debated. Data is presented and evidence is analyzed.

I’m not on Twitter. Does it really do that?
Yes, and it’s just annoying and condescending. When they lock your account, they have this “We’ve temporarily limited your features...” and this long rambling statement about why they did what they did and how we all need to combat hate or misinformation and such. I’d just rather have them nuke the account. Although I don’t use Twitter, I have an account because it’s still #1 at breaking news and statements.

There is no such thing as a little or benign censorship. Our courts used to understand that. Even after proclaiming that obscenity could be banned, they were reluctant to call anything obscene. Now I see their wisdom. No one should have the power to muzzle what anyone says, no matter how repugnant it is. Censorship is a friend only to tyrants.
