Over the coming months this could end up being major popcorn and Pepsi time. It may be best to stay away from the rival Woka Cola.
Many things could be played out on stages all over the United States, not limited to 1-4 below, especially if they are played out within court rooms:
1.) U.S. federal law does not allow business boycotts of foreign countries.
Counter-argument from Ben & Jerry's/Unilever: we aren't boycotting Israel but rather this is occurring in "Israeli-occupied" territories.
U.S.: those areas are a part a Israel.
Counter: how so per U.S. policy of a two-state solution, and numerous businesses and financial institutions boycotted South Africa.
Where it goes then, who knows.
2.) Ben and Jerry's boycott has been labeled as antisemitic and since one of the two is Jewish the counter is it's antisemitic to attack them.
3.) Israel is being challenged on whether they truly support free market capitalism whereas others wonder what's a commie company doing competing in a free market?
4.) Then it will come down to free speech and charges of foreign interference in U.S. laws vs anti-BDS laws.
These are the arguments and counter arguments I've seen, and if anyone wishes to add to the list below, feel free to.
We certainly do live in interesting times.
Indeed we do...
I’m not a fan of Pepsi because the Pepsi logo looks like the Obama logo sideways.
For an alternative to Woka-Cola, RC is my first choice.
Drink water, it is cheaper and healthier.
RC is the best
Pepsi logo was redesigned for that exact purpose, sadly
🙄
