How is the winter driving between those towns and Ashville—the position is in the city.
Asheville is a lovely fun town. Very liberal though.

I had no idea Ashville was so liberal for its size and geographic location!
It has a lot of small mountains and whitewater rafting available in the area. Deliverance was filmed close by.
Greenville and Spartanburg are close by and have some good gun shows.

I rented a 1 bedroom apartment right next to the VAMC
Outstanding place to have a triple bypass and graph and AAA repair all within a week.

They passed a reparations bill for the town to not pay any cash to the folks who think they are owed, but to lay yet another layer of bureaucracy to administer some soviet era jobs plan that will cause tax rates to increase on the working idiots who actually produce something (to include those who might benefit) and go along with such stupidity.
It's like Charlotte except it has some amenities and a view
And with all the above, you get governor Cooper, which is like getting a colonoscopy with a 155mm bore punch (sorry flash back to my time at 10th Marines Artillery)

I’m retired now, but I used to work midnights in Asheville. There was only a couple of times a winter when the roads were “hairy”. Our DOT crews are super. The liquid salt they use is hard on the cars though, so plan to trade every two or three years.
Just say to far-left Asheville if you or a loved one has any choice.
Hopefully she is a biden voter ...

1. Thoughts isn’t spelled that_______? That what? Perhaps you forgot to use the word “way?” You provided three emoticons instead...
2. You did not provide punctuation to end your first incomplete sentence...
3. You forgot an apostrophe for the contractions “That’s” and for “I’m.”
4. “Dumb” is not correct English usage...the proper word should be “stupid” or “ignorant” unless you are saying the nation is becoming mute.

I certainly know how to spell....Similar to the term “yo” in first sentence, I was merely shortening “thoughts” to “thots” for the title. Since your comment was overloaded with useless emoticons, I am sure you text and have seen the term “thots” in texts. I have proofread 2 PhD dissertations, 2 MS theses and taught college business English classes. How many have you proofread? Maybe you should just start with your 3-sentence comment.

The thread topic was supposed to be THOUGHTS about relocating to Ashville, North Carolina. Thanks to the many other helpful Freepers who have provided USEFUL input.
A question more appropriate for Yelp instead of using FreeRepublic as a vehicle to degrade the English language with “words” like thots and yo.

I did. Many people use the term thots as a shortened text version of thoughts.
I did not care until someone rudely told me I cannot spell—and their comment had at least 4 errors.
Looking for a lovely smaller city in a conservative Southeast county—an area close to the mountains—Not the San Fran of the Southeast with a crazy lib. mayor, defund police movement, and 500+ homeless.
Had mistakenly assumed that outside of Nashville and Atlanta, there would be lots of great pickings—really disappointed with Ashville.
