t’s the purrrfect apartment.
The Post got an exclusive look inside Curtis Sliwa’s tiny Upper West Side studio apartment Wednesday — after the newly minted GOP mayoral nominee revealed that he and his wife share the space with 15 rescue cats.
The 320-square-foot studio on West 87th Street and Central Park West is a veritable kitty heaven with furnishings more fit for felines than their human roommates.
There’s three windows that face the street that are perfectly set up for bird watching, or an afternoon snooze in the sunshine, that have been retrofitted with chicken wire so the cats can enjoy a makeshift outdoor space while basking on the sills.
Three towering cat condos cover the apartment’s main wall and in the kitchen, two private cat hotels are perched atop the cabinets that provide a birds eye view of the action below...

ummmm, not a good sign
I read the article, I know!, & it said it was 750 sq. feet. I admire him & his wife. All of ours are rescues too. Never realized how good looking he is ; )
Amen! Preach on it!
I don't currently own a cat--my little calico girl kitty Tasha passed away at 18 on Election Day 2016 (she died happy), but I've since made friends with Kirby, my neighbor's tuxedo cat.
If you keep the litter boxes clean, you don't smell them. I had two cats, and four boxes in my hall closet for them. People who came into my small two-bedroom apartment said they'd had no idea I had cats until they actually saw them.
Not a good sign that every cat he has was slated to be euthanized? He and his wife saved their lives.
Hmmmmmmmmmm
Seems you must downsize or miss out on the ultimate experience...
He’s nuts.
What litter do you use? We have two cats, keep the box clean, and they are still stinky buggers.
James Earl Ray’s wife is arrested for animal cruelty for having a house full of dogs she couldn’t take care of. Curtis Sliwa and wife own 15 cats in a 320 sq.ft. apartment and are the central feature of a big story now that he’s a mayoral candidate.
The cynic in me says the media wants the reader to conflate the two: Sliwa is unelectable for being a crazy cat person.
“For the plumbing’s sake, hope they’re not flushing it...”
Maybe they’re using the building’s garbage chute?
Should kitty litter be tossed in the garbage chute?
If so, hope they double bag it...
As for the flushable cat litter mentioned in the link, folks might want to get the opinion of their local sewer department on the advisability of that option before running out and buying any...
I don't have any cats anymore as I don't want my kids to be burdened with dealing with them once I die. But I used to use the Tidy Cat clumping litter. They recommend two boxes for each cat, so I had four litter boxes that I kept in my walk-in hall closet. I've been retired since 2003, so I was free to clean their boxes several times a day, and especially right after they took a dump. I had two cats, one of which was too lazy to cover his up, so I had to make sure I went in right afterward.
We use wood pellets like they use for horses. Cat loves it. No mess throughout the house.
Cats are very clean, humans tend to be slobs, however.
‘k,
you go cat lady.
An entertaining free movie about a cat that makes itself at home and assumes control of the host (some parental discretion advised). Great ending.

The cat takes the form of a very seductive woman, BTW.
