Chip and Joanna Gaines donated $1000 to Chip’s sister’s campaign for School Board. The media has turned this into an attack on the “Fixer Upper” stars because Chip’s sister is opposed to critical race theory.
As you know, many people will support a sibling or other family member running for office. We want to encourage strong minded people to run for office and sometimes this includes relatives.

How long till their show is taken off TV, and their internet deleted, and any trace of them is erased from sites such as YouTube?
My wife is a huge fan of their show. When we went to South Padre Island in the southern tip of Texas last December, we hit their place in Waco. Tourist trap, no doubt, but fun. Give it 20 years and they’ll probably have some amazing rides. :)
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18
Only sane people are against critical race theory. And that’s their customer base. They’ll be fine.
Think “Chick-fil-A boycott”. i.e. this will probably work to their favor. And the sister wins as well. Free advertising.
I thought the Gaines were starting up a new network TV series.
I hope the Cancel Culture does not catch up with them.
Taking flak? Yes.
Over the target? Absolutely.
Drawing liberal hate is a good thing.
That’s my worry exactly.
But remember when Phil Robertson spoke the truth against homosexuality and A&E took Duck Dynasty off the air? Big mistake.
The backlash was tremendous. So much so that A&E reinstated the show immediately.
The Gaines don’t preach their Christianity on TV. But they live a Godly life. And evil liberals HATE THAT.
$1000 is chump change compared to what the Teachers Union probably gave to support it. They dropped $40K on a small School District race here.
Time then to start watching their show again. Not a problem. Joanna is very easy on the eyes and a creative genius, it’s fun watching Chip’s occasional screwups, and seeing Waco reminds me of what I liked years back about living in Texas.
Kinda/Sorta. They have their own ‘channel’ on the Discrovery+ (I believe) streaming service. Essentially, they’re still partnering with the same company they’ve been with on HGTV, only using the streaming model.
A great family who loves the country and free Enterprise....
I was buying some paint at Ace Hardware recently. Ms Gaines paint is priced @ close to $50.00 a gallon.
They’re too big and nice to be hurt by the mob.
From a TV watching standpoint, they jumped the shark when they opened the store and started charging exorbitant prices for everyday items cashing in on their celebrity.
The guys from Black Dog did the same thing. I stopped in at the Black Dog store in Roanoke, Va a few years ago and could not believe the prices. I walked out empty handed and never looked back.
I wish them well but it won’t be on my hard-earned dollars.
Good for them! They are obviously educated correctly....and have generous hearts. ;-)
