Promoting mass immigration is the standard for journalists across the liberal media. No wonder, then, that the New York Times has published a major front-page story about the problem of falling birth rates, suggesting that salvation lies in -- you guessed it -- promoting immigration!
Damien Cave, lead author of that Times article, was a guest on today's Morning Joe. His conclusion was that the countries that will do the best in the future are those that are "friendlier" to immigration.
Financial Times editor and Morning Joe regular Ed Luce took things a step further, suggesting that the solution is to open the immigration "floodgates."

Now the wackadoodles are saying population control is bad and so we must import foreign nationals who have no ties to America, have no understanding of the culture or values or efforts put into preserving our parks, our history and monuments and could care less about our laws and customs?
We are led by the insane. And we need to start calling them out - publicly and loudly and at every opportunity.
Stop offshoring the economy and maybe young people will pro create again.
Shouldn’t the USA after it stupidly decided to offshore it’s manufacturing base be shrinking in population? Why does a post-industrial USA need people anyway?
I believe you are correct about Western civilization.
I suppose I’m just lucky to have been here and experience a couple of really good, high quality decades.
But, nothing lasts forever. What has been created can always be destroyed.
The biggest surprise to me is that much of our society is melting, rotting, withering away due to people just allowing it to happen, allowing the destroyers to destroy.
See Portland, Oregon and several other cities for reference. So many ‘Leaders’ energetically waving their big White Flags of surrender.
I thought it would have taken a couple of Atomic Bombs to turn the cities over to Thugs and professional losers.
Civilizations rise and fall. Ours is definitely in decline. Is there any stopping it?

Population decline may not, in the long run, be a bad thing. The only downside that I see is that the young people will not be contributing enough to keep the Ponzi schemes known as Social Security and Medicare going without taking away from some other “social programs”, which may have to be rethought.
People will just have to keep on working well into what would have been retirement years, essentially working up to the day they die, if they have not made provisions for a continued cash flow from other than wages.
People who keep working tend to live longer. One of the little secrets about retirement.
Proving “replacement theory” isn’t a theory
Stopping, or even reversing the decline would take some cause or event to bring us all together for a shared purpose.
We were fully that way during WW2. We were somewhat in that zeitgeist right after 9/11. I don’t know what would do the trick now. Maybe if China teamed up with Krazy-Kim Jung Un against us and started blocking waterways for the hell of it.
It is unfortunate that it often takes undeniable disaster to make people cherish what they have.
Sort of like family promising to stay close while they meet each other at someone’s funeral. Some really mean it, others are just being polite for that moment.

Now as to population increase via immigration, well, that’s really good for the environment. Studies have shown that third worlders have much smaller carbon footprints than first world population. By replacing first-worlders with third worlders, you are metaphorically taking the first world’s knee off of the environment’s neck. It can breathe again. Don’t you want St. George Floyd to be able to breathe?

The wife and I are always great full that we lived through some of America's best years and watched our accomplishments grow. I'm good to go now at 71 knowing I won't see the ultimate demise of our amazing Country.
