The poor mans tax. “Gotta play to win” brings them in every time.

I’ve seen people take their entire government hand out and play the lotto. If minimum wage was $20 an hour, we’d see more millionaires. The lottery is the only way Americans have a chance to succeed. There’s plenty more liberal bull chips to spew but my head hurts.

I hope a homeless guy with 19 cents to his name won after buying a ticket of course. Talk about the America dream. We need some inspiring stories after a horrid 17 months.

I once saw a guy come out of the store with scratch off tickets and he got into a station wagon that had his wife and two kids and what looked to be everything they owned stuffed in the back and then proceeded to go to scratching.

I need to bring my wife to Vegas some day. She worked at convenient stores and had a knack for knowing when a $50 or $100 winning scratch off ticket was about to come off the roll. Most people scratch them on site or in their cars and cash them in on the spot. If no one had cashed in a $50/100 winner for a number of hours, she would buy 5-10 tickets and often get the $50/100 winner.

They "say" $515 Million, but it's only $348 Million, and after taxes, it's more like $145 Million.

What a ripoff.

Some States are allowing you to buy Lottery tickets with a Credit Card! So now you can go into debt while gambling.

The cash option was $348 million and after federal taxes is about $219 million (after 37% fed tax).

I play a few times a year, but growing up I worked in a marina that sold lotto. Some of the gibmedats comes and demand you to sell them a ticket, while you are talking to a customer about a $20,000 boat. We got rid of lotto...

I’m convinced the lottery operators deliberately front-load smaller prizes in the scratch-off games. This would ensure interest in a new game, without affecting the overall odds.

The lottery is the only way Americans have a chance to succeed.

The collectivist falsehood that "Success is Luck" is responsible for almost all of our current social pathologies.

“We got rid of lotto...”

Two local gas stations/conveience stores near me got rid of lotto. Not worth the hassle.

Nothing worse than standing in line with goods in hand while some obese, tattood up idiot is trying to decide what lotto ticket to purchase.

It’s an annuity. If you want the $515, you take the annual payments.

A good rule of thumb is to divide the jackpot by three. That’s about what you take home with a one time payout.

The “rules” are spelled out. Obviously the average Joe might not read them.
