I have no problems with soldiers being required (forced) to take proven, tested and approved vaccines. I do have a problem with experimental and unproven ones. Then it should be a choice. My son-in-law is in the 82nd at Bragg. He had the CCP virus and he also got vaccinated. His choice on the vaccination tho. A lot of soldiers in the 82nd have had the virus. It went through Ft. Bragg like wildfire, but I haven’t heard of any serious cases or death because of it.

Back in the day, when America was still America, and the Army was still the Army, any general who had a bunch of un-deployable troops for such a bullshit reason...his fault, her fault, somebody else’s fault, my fault, your fault, their fault or whatever would no longer be in command.

Federal court ruling circa 2007 on the anthrax vaccine ruled that a non-FDA approved vaccine cannot be forced on service personnel.
I had the anthrax series before that ruling. I had about a year where I had the option before the DOD and FDA collaborated to approve the anthrax vaccine. Then, it was mandatory again.

Here’s the FaceBook Live town hall from 5/11/21 along with the comments. The Commanding General said that no decision has been made as of this time, but said it takes 5 weeks to have full benefit of the vaccine to be considered ‘vaccinated’ and not have any restrictions on leave.
Sounds like the old shoe needs a new Executive Officer to wipe his nose for him. Expect the fort newspaper to announce his retirement soon.
He had to have Dept of the Army approval to do that or at least Corps approval from Ft Bragg, 18th Airborne Corps. This 101st veteran is so ashamed of what our Army and country have become. They are now who I served for many years.

Wuli, this is an OPTIONAL vaccine. They are restricting people to base for not taking and OPTIONAL vaccine. That I believe has to be illegal.
It is not so much an optional vaccine as much as it is an experimental substance.
As much as the military is not a democratic institution, It is an institution within a democratic/republican government and there are certain guidelines Military members cannot be forced to take experimental substances.

We had no choice with the Anthrax vaccine. Get the shot or you were discharged. Same reasoning, without the vaccines you were not considered deployable.
Using it to withhold leave seems inappropriate. Either kick them out or don’t.
