Crazy.
And lazy.
In the old days, dumb people were not saved from themselves.
It was the natural way the situation self-corrected.
Yep. And in case an emergency comes up, you won’t starve.
but I have to say that I have overbought over the years....some has been wasted, but consider it an insurance policy you didn't use, but still paid for....PEACE OF MIND.
good to know....
My son is a wholesale expeditor for a large and MAJOR grocery supplier in the northeast.
They had a Zoom meeting today with many outside suppliers. These folks said that the product is there, they just don’t have the folks to get it through the supply chain as they’re all home sitting on their asses collecting gov’t money.
Bottom line-everything is going up price wise and to buy all the meat you can now and freeze it as big shortages are on their way soon.
I’m overweight, what are my chances that I could become someone’s buffet?
HE is our refuge and Strong Tower.
That said, He also expects us to heed wisdom in turbulent times when the enemy is out to destroy and kill.

Been hearing some similar stories from Cold Storage companies I have worked with in the past.
Logistics is a big problem right now.
I just told my son that and he said he heard that himself.
Another thing people need to consider is meds.
Get your prescriptions refilled and make sure you have enough OTC stuff for your needs.
Yeah, Boston gets slammed with nor’easters, but when you are used to stuff within walking distance, the you get lazy. Someone has probably always bailed her out.
Geez they are several years past the expiration date
I opened an ‘evaporated milk can’ to see how it looked to possibly use in my coffee one day since I was out of creamer & milk. It wasn’t a pretty sight.
The storage of canned goods in the basement became an ‘out of sight/out of mind’ situation. But, since I’m redoing the basement and clearing out stuff, it’s finally time to deal with it.
I’ve almost got too much of that stuff if there is such a thing in times like these.
We ignore expiration dates by about a year.
Friend of mine at Proctor & Gamble says there’s about to be another TP and PT shortage due to production and materials.
And more price increases...

I have been continuing to stock up on those items.
Oil is not the only item in strategic reserve.
😁
My dad grew every imaginable fruit and vegetable growing up. We never bought a single vegetable in over 20 years. We had every fruit tree snd even our own grape vines. Summer was a lot of work. The cases of canning went 6 feet high and there were rows of them . We made our own juices snd nectar, jelly/jam too.
And still fed the neighbors and family friends with the fresh produce.
We ate it fresh and then moved onto the canning which lasted the rest of the year.
When I was a kid and go to the grocery store with my mom - I’d see the frozen green giant ‘ broccoli and cheese sauce. I wanted it really bad for some reason. But, my mom said my dad would be more than angry if she bought it. Lol. Most kids want candy. I wanted the frozen broccoli and cheese sauce.
I used to shoot in competition just for fun both cowboy action and High Power rifle with M1 Garands. I didn’t Hot Rod my Firearms nor did I do a hell of a lot of practice. I actually practiced more for hunting. 2 to 3 times a month gets me over my urge to shoot ‘jones’. I have a lot (won’t say how much) .22lr ammo. I shoot a lot of that both rifle and pistol to save my stores of center fire ammo. Though I do shoot a fair amount of that too.
