One of the reasons that conspiracy theories and internet sleuthing are on the rise is because there’s a critical breakdown in trust between the public and the government.
That breakdown can be organic and it can also be manufactured. Either way, it breeds distrust, suspicion, and drives a frenetic need in the public to uncover the “truth.”
We saw that happen in 2016 with the left’s obsession over all things “Russia.” Those conspiracy theories ran amok for four-plus years, and were fueled by political leaders and the mainstream media which convinced a large swath of the public that Vladimir Putin was secretly running the White House.
The left sincerely thought they were completely justified in what they believed — they felt distrust, disenfranchised, and out of control.
In the end their conspiracy was proven false, but to this day, many on the left are still wearing their tinfoil hats and pushing the Russia nonsense.
In all fairness, the right also engages in conspiracy theories as well — again, it’s human nature to distrust the “powers that be.”
And one incident that has sparked a lot of different theories and internet sleuthing is the melee that unfolded at the Capitol on January 6th.

The DC democrats and this illegitimate WH regime will say: we don’t need the stinking trust because we are in control and who is going to challenge our rule when the DOJ/FBI/US Military the deep state will defend us against any American citizen?
So....who was it?
One of the reasons that conspiracy theories and internet sleuthing are on the rise is because there's a critical breakdown in trust between the public and the government.I thinhk of it as a healthy distrust. The founders tried to create a government of limited power. The government has not honored the deal. The government should not and can not be trusted.
At least this isn’t another “Ashley Babbitt was a crisis actor” B.S. story.
I think they’ve got it, whoever that is, that looks like the guy

House Democrats introduced a bill to erect a permanent “Attack On The Capitol” exhibit on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. The bill specifies that the project must be installed in a “prominent location” and retain a “permanent” status. Property “damaged during the attack,” photographs, and a plaque honoring the “sacrifice of heroes, including United States Capitol Police Officers Brian Sicknick” are among the exhibit requirements. Officer Sicknick, however, died of natural causes according to D.C.’s Chief Medical Examiner.
“The Architect may include artwork created to depict the attack on the Capitol,” the bill adds.
The legislation adds to the Democratic party’s continued exploitation of the events on January 6th, epitomized by President Biden, who recently referred to the event as “worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War” and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who professed she thought she “was going to die” when Trump supporters entered the U.S. Capitol despite the fact the congresswoman was in an entirely different building at the time of the attack.

Why didn’t the SWAT team give her emergency aid? Why did they wander off? Because they were not SWAT they were actors.
Why have we never seen a death certificate?
Why are you not allowed to ask let alone expect answers about this “shooting”?
What they don’t realize is that not coming clean on the shooter makes things worse, makes people angrier…and totally discredits the US justice system.
I think the shooter was the Capitol police lieutenant (who would have been wearing a suit) who left his loaded gun in the Capitol men’s room…twice. He was obviously an incompetent, probably protected because of his race, and any real cops on that force probably wouldn’t have touched him with a ten foot pole. Some FReepers even commented on how unprofessional his shot looked.
I hope Ashli Babbitt’s family collects big on this, since civil court may be their only hope for justice. That said, they should have gone for a lot more than $10 million.
Welcome to FR.
It’s been one hell of a ride so far... (me) at first a lurker starting in Nov 1998, kicking myself for not signing up and posting over the first two years.
Ashli Babbitt was trying to balance in a crouched position on a doorframe a few feet in the air.
Anyone could have pushed her backwards with one finger.
There was no need to shoot an unarmed woman.
That’s insane. Maybe you could post this “monument proposal” as a thread by itself?
I think a lot of people would like to be warned about this craziness. Your post is the first thing I’ve seen about it.
“One of the reasons that conspiracy theories and internet sleuthing are on the rise is because there’s a critical breakdown in trust between the public and the government.”
What other shooting in the U.S. by who we assume was a law enforcement officer has there been where the officer’s identity has not been made public within hours, let alone months? Isn’t it odd that the press appears to have no interest in this whatsoever.
Good vid clips at site. And please, people, it is NOT David Bailey, the brazillian guy that Trump gave a medal to. That’s 100% disinformation.
Yeah, the “Ashley is still alive!!!” crowd is certifiable. Probably qooks.
You have mail.
I believe every member of Congress knows the killer’s identity. They should be asked whenever they appear on tv, and then pressed to explain why they won’t answer.
1. What is the name of the person who shot Ashli Babbitt?
2. If he’s innocent, what’s the problem with telling the world his name?
This clickbait article does not identify the shooter by name.
So is the shooter Lt Mike Byrd?
