Republican Governor Ron DeSantis Signs Bill To End COVID Restrictions
Conservative Brief ^ | 5/3 | Carmine Sabia

Florida has been leading the way in the American comeback from the coronavirus pandemic because of its Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

And the governor has now taken another step in that direction on Monday when he announced the suspension of all local coronavirus-related restrictions, Bay News 9 reported.

“I think that’s the evidence-based thing to do. I think folks that are saying that they need to be policing people at this point, if you’re saying that you really are saying you don’t believe in the vaccine, you don’t believe in the data, you don’t believe the science,” he said. “We’ve embraced the vaccine, we’ve embraced the science.”

“The bill ensures that neither the state or local governments can close businesses or keep kids out of in-personal instruction unless they satisfy a demanding and continuous justification,” the governor said.

This is wonderful news! A lot of the local restrictions were purely politically motivated power-grabs in the first place.

Now pass a public maskerbation ban, making it illegal to maskerbate or require maskerbation in all public places except medical facilities...

I think Florida is planning on suing or perhaps already is suing to restart cruises.

".... A lot of the local restrictions were purely politically motivated power-grabs in the first place....."

I just saw the very beginning of a press conference by the mayor of St. Augustine where he was wearing a mask and then took it off when he was assured he was at least 6 foot from everyone.

He was complaining about DeSantis usurping his authority as mayor because it sounded like he wanted to keep the covid rules in effect in his town.

I quit watching it as soon as I heard that, assumed he was a democRAT who wanted to play wannabe dictator for a while longer.

The CDC has no authorization over interstate commerce and travel. They went from making health recommendations and guidelines to placing unauthorized mandates upon cruising.

Luv the Gov !

Henry, are you taking notes? I know you’re not as young as DeSantis, but you gotta pick up the pace.

All of the federal agencies are getting in on it. The TSA just announced restrictions (masks, limited seating, etc,) on all airplanes and all public transportation until September. What gives them this authority?

I retired here to Florida from Arizona and the big city 10 years ago. My wife and I raise beef cattle on a farm in a rural area in the north central part of the state.

I have not worn a mask since this so-called pandemic started. I don't social distance and I don't lockdown in my home. I travel freely and don't wear masks in stores. Around here people quit wearing them last summer.

I have felt like this covid thing has been over for almost a year now. It may be still going on in the big cities but out here in the country, I don't see why we should be penalized for what the big city folks are experiencing.

I feel bad for the folks who live in the locked down totalitarian blue states who can't escape their fate during this scam.

And anyone who doesn't think we haven't been scammed by the democRATS with this covid thing, I have some carbon credits I'll sell you for a discount.

This has just been a big con like climate change has always been.

I live in Polk county myself and feel the same way. My wife and I have already caught the covid. We were really tired for 4 or 5 days with a stuffy nose. Used afrin nose spray and slept it off. A few stores around here still ask for you to wear masks. We don’t wear them. Was wearing them when we caught it. Lol. Love the fact you raise beef. Guessing you eat well every day.

Not sure where Polk County is without looking it up. I don't get out much around the state with cattle to watch.

But here's an interesting item. Last summer or fall, the CDC reported that of all people who contracted the covid, 89% of them with wore a mask all of the time or most of the time. The remaining 11% either wore masks part of the time or not at all. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell you that masks don't stop you from getting the covid. As a matter of fact, you have a better chance of not getting the virus if you didn't wear the mask.

The local county requires all businesses to wear masks but there is no penalty except to the employees if people don't wear masks. Customers can't be fined and the businesses hesitate to enforce the mask rule in such a small town with so few customers where most people know each other by name. So guess what? Not one wears masks anymore. The employees wear them because they can be fined.

Yeah, we have two large freezers. One is full of garden vegetables and orchard fruit. The other one is stuffed full of hamburger and steaks. We butcher a steer once a year and split it with our adult daughter and her boyfriend who only live 5 miles away.
