I know you don’t care, but I’m sharing because you should.

Those of you who predicted the Oscar wins would be peppered with wins by Asians and Blacks…take a bow, it wasn’t a sweep (old ways die hard) but still impressive by Hollywood’s hypocritical standards.

oscarsfencewalls1-640x335Speaking of hypocritical: check out the walls build around Union Station to keep the “stars” safe

Honestly, pop culture is so predictable even a caveman could do it.

Wait – isn’t this…racist?

Best Supporting Actor went to Daniel Kaluuya (Judas and the Black Messiah),

daniel kuluuya

and Youn Yuh-jung (Minari) won Best Supporting Actress.

yuh-jung youn brad pitt 'minari'Shown here with her Oscar and has-been white actor Brad Pitt

Chloé Zhao, the China-born director of Nomadland who became just the second woman to win best director, and the first woman of color. Boy, I can’t keep up, one day Asians don’t count as POC, the next day they do. Which is it? Maybe Harvard will weigh in.

chloe Zhao

Disappointingly, the top Actress and Actor awards went respectively to Frances McDormand (Nomadland), old white actress, and Anthony Hopkins (The Father), old, white actor  – instead of Viola Davis

violaViola (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)

and Chadwick Boseman (also Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) – who everyone assumed was a shoe-in, having the misfortune of having passed away from cancer last summer. If only he’d had the better fortune of dying of Covid instead we could have filed another chapter in the history book of that could be dragged out every Black History Month.

chadwick Boseman 'ma rainey's black bottom'Chadwick (RIP)

Whereas everyone expected Chadwick to take the top honor they switched up the award order which usually ends with the announcement of Best Picture and instead awarded that prize before Best Actress and Actor, to provide an emotional end note to the ceremony. Since Anthony Hopkins won (unexpectedly - not that he was undeserving!) and was not present to accept, the presenter, Joaquin Phoenix, was left awkwardly holding the bag, or Oscar, as it were. Wags have noted it was the worst ending since The Sopranos fade-to-black finale.

Oh, I don’t know… fade to black

seems a perfectly fitting end to this charade to me. Followed by a word from all your woke sponsors; Nike, Coke, et al.

Haven’t watched the Oscars or Emmy Awards in over 30 years. Would prefer to watch a Comedy Central Coast.

Man, I’m fed up with EVERYTHING telling me I’m a bad person. Last night I got around to watching a taped episode of Station 19 and got a (continued) lecture on racism. There’s two things wrong with this.

First, I watch TV to be entertained, not to be told what a bad person I and every other white person is and that I am a White Supremacist. They even went so far as to say anyone who says “I’m not a racist” is, by simply using those words, a racist.

Second, racism is a learned behavior and there are other minorities in this country who are discriminated against to a significant;y lesser degree than blacks. No one wants to ask why that is. On Station 19, the black telling me I’m a horrible person said that blacks make up 58% of the prison population but only 13% of the population and used that statistic to support that the courts are racist. Really? My view is that blacks commit a disproportionately large part of the crime and, if you look at the statistics, there is far more evidence to support that conclusion.

Blacks have an internal problem and everyone else needs to see evidence that they are working to solve it. Quit playing the victim and start policing your own house. Racism is also a black problem and the solution needs blacks working on a solution and screaming “I’m a victim” is simply worn out.

I know you don’t care, but I’m sharing because you should.

It isn't a question of not caring. It is more the understanding of inevitability.

When Ronald Reagan was President of the Screen Actors Guild, Robert Taylor and William Holden (I remember from his bio it was these two) warned him in a meeting that the Soviets had infiltrated Hollywood. In those days we could boast of a much larger percent of actors, probably a vast majority, who were the United States and western civilization patriots and boosters.

Today, I don't know the percent but likely the majority, the majority of Hollywould types support any terrorist, communist, fascist, and anti-American cause they can find.

I don't think I ever knew what the motion picture "Acadamy" was/is. It says right here that today it isn't an institution of higher learning.

“Joe Biden was our champion inside the Obama White House,” said ex-Swamp Sen. Christopher Dodd. Dodd went to Hollywood and led the lobbying group, the Motion Picture Assn. of America for much of the Obama era. Dodd: “There is no question about it. Even before Joe Biden decided to run for president, I would get calls and have conversation with the major studio figures, with them saying, ‘You tell Vice President Biden 100% we want him to run.’ This wasn’t waiting around to see who would do well in polls.”

===================================================

Remember this Biden deal made Hollywood's output censored to meet Communist China's standards; only then is it deemed ready to be seen by Americans.

Chinese Communist head Xi (center) in LA schmoozed Hollywood bigwigs and their errand boys, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden....

In the photo, President Xi Jinping, (then vice president of China_, speaks with then-LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa while Jerry Brown, then governor of California, watches a game between the Lakers and the Suns at Staples Center in 2012. At top right is Jeffrey Katzenberg, then-CEO of DreamWorks Animation, who used his ties to California politicians — and to then-Vice President Joe Biden — to lobby Xi for access to the Chinese market.

NOTE WELL: Former US Senator Chris Dodd is Biden's best friend.......and is especially well-connected. After swimming in The Swamp, in 2011 Dodd then went to Hollywood to become the Motion Picture Association of America chairman— Hollywood's top lobbyist — representing the six major studios.

How "man of the people" Joe Biden won friends, votes and donations in Hollywood
by helping money-hungry movieland studios get their movie productions into China

By EVAN HALPER, LA TIMES STAFF WRITER , JULY 18, 2019

WASHINGTON — then-VP Joe Biden hosted Chinese leader Xi Jinping for a five-day diplomatic blitz in 2012, and Hollywood Democratic mega-donor kept popping up with them.

There was Jeffrey Katzenberg, then the head of DreamWorks Animation, dining alongside Xi, then-vice president of China, at a State Department welcome lunch in Washington. And there he was again, standing just behind Xi, then-Gov. Jerry Brown and then-Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa at a Lakers game in Los Angeles. And there was Katzenberg hanging out in a nearby hallway with Disney CEO Robert Iger to provide last-minute counsel as Biden closed a deal in which China committed to considerably expand its market for American films. (PIC--Allen J. Schaben/LAT)

On the final day of Xi’s visit, Dreamworks announced Xi had signed off on the company’s own deal — the launching of Oriental DreamWorks, a $330-million joint venture with Chinese companies to develop and distribute animated films in China.

Several of the candidates vying for the Democratic presidential nomination have significant support in Hollywood — Katzenberg, for example, has kicked in $2,800 each to 14 of them already — but none has as long a history of delivering for the industry as Biden.

His deep ties to studio executives and decades-long advocacy for their agenda has helped cement Biden’s support even as it may also open him to criticism for too cozy a relationship with big donors.

CIRCA 2019 Candidate Biden is returning to Hollywood this week for another round of fundraisers, including the second Biden event co-hosted by Katzenberg and leaders of several major studios. Biden’s first Southern California fundraiser, which Katzenberg co-hosted in May, netted Biden more than $700,000 in one night. (h/t LA Times)

“I’m a victim” is simply worn out.

Above all things underachievers love having an excuse for their failures.

I saw that Station 19 show. Also, I noted lots of shows with plots involving nasty white people and cops killiing black people. “20/20” had an entire show devoted to George Floyd.

“Law and Order-Special Victim Unit” began their most recent episode with a big BLM billboard on the screen and a plot showing white racists.

Which is to conclude....you are right. Every show almost has some plot featuring black people killed wrongly by a nasty white gang.

Like you plan to do....I am not watching any of it.

That's right.

It never worked with ME.

Frankly, in my whole life I have NEVER been able to pity and respect the same person.

If pity and victim hood are the pre condition for our association and if you want my attention, support, money, my vote, etc., based on PITY ...then it ain't gonna happen!

Woke politics and drug use make for lousy movies and awards shows. Nobody watches or wants to watch the movies nominated foe “Best Picture”. The ratings for the TV broadcast are abysmal. The “film industry” is a bad joke.

I just found out this morning that it had already been aired. Like you, it’s been decades since I’ve watched it. I also no longer care about who wins. I’ve kinda felt that way since Annie Hall beat Star Wars. The veil was removed that year, at least for me.

And now we have a lot of really good reviewers on the internet that tend to be spot on regarding what is good and what is not (The critical drinker being a favorite), not to mention Rotten Tomatoes.

This BLM crap is creating racial hatred. Certainly racial distrust. Melanin has become a weapon and it is clear the BLM movement wants to make blacks the aristocracy and have all other races bow down to them!

Problem is only whites are stupid enough to go along, and only a part of whites are that stupid.

With other races and many whites, it is creating hatred - and hatred is a predictable response toward someone who wants to kill you or drive you out of public life and your home.

I remember on SNL when Bill Murray would do the Oscar picks and then when it came to Best Support Actor and Actress he would say, “Nobody really cares about this.”
