The Greatest Conservative Films: Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
Liberty Island Magazine ^ | June 28th, 2018 | E. M. Blake

Here, whatever the actor’s politics, Cap as a character is wholly Conservative, with Libertarian leanings. And it isn’t just what’s on the surface.

....

He’s against bullies. There’s no attempt at moral equivalency, here—as far as he’s concerned, America is not the bully, nor has it ever been. Nor will it ever be, if the later movies in the MCU are any indication.

Rather, as far as Steve’s concerned, America fights bullies. And that’s why he wants to serve.

But of course, this is WWII—the “good war” that even the Left (for the most part) approves of.

And yet…there is more, as Dr. Erskine explains. HITLER’S “HOPE” AND “CHANGE”:

Marvel’s films dominated the 2010s. Chris Evans is a douchebag but he was good as Captain America.

Watched “Catch-22” with hubby tonight. So many stars in the movie and all so young! Hubby read the book, which impressed me.

A good movie, quite a bit weird, very sixties, but just anti-American trash throughout. I had to leave at some points.

I’m sure there’s corruption in the military (I’ve seen Sgt. Bilko), but this was just stupid. I don’t think our military is like the way they were portrayed in this film.

This is where the rot started, in the 60s, and we are still rotting.

And it is NOT GOOD.

Oxymoron.

So Steve Rogers is wholly conservative, but perhaps may have some “feelings” for Bucky that (per what I have been told by libertarians) would be nobody’s business because stay outta the bedroom? Wholly means wholly; words have meanings.

The actor’s a libtard.

Captain America comics had already called out the TEA Party as wrongheaded and racists.

And Marvel-Disney is in league with the Chi-Coms and pederasts.

I don’t think this really ranks high on conservative films...

Had to read it and write a book report about in High School. Later... In LE, I realized that the guy was at least a little ahead of his time. When you read and sign off on the “policy & procedures” manual. There is ALWAYS a “catch-22”... a clause that says that they claim that you violated some rule, even before they made it. It’s all dressed up in legalese. I’m getting older, some things aren’t so... well, like it was yesterday. But, I can remember some of it goes like this... “...and anything else not contained in this manual...” It’s like being handed a coloring book and being expected to color within the lines, but they can come along and change the coloring book, and then declare you to have been coloring outside these NEW lines they just created.

Say what you want about me! But once I find out some dude is a “pole-smoker” I’m gone! This ain’t nothing new. rock hudson, james dean... “cookie cookie lend me your comb”... I have a “natural ‘adverse’ reaction to the ‘unnatural’” It’s really pretty simple.

Bucky was his best friend. Steve had a mad crush on a woman and was devastated to find that while he was trapped in the ice, she had grown old. His opportunity to marry his true love was lost.

In EG3, he went back in time and married her, spending their lives together until the day she died.

The libertarians were letting their imaginations run wild.

I don’t just consider the film. I consider the actor’s public messaging, as well as that of the company that produced the film. I just will not willingly support them with my time or my $$$.

Don’t forget “The Manchurian Candidate”. A warning of what the Red Chinese were up to in the 1950’s and never stopped plotting world conquest.

Re John Wayne in the full article, Wayne was exempt from the draft/military because of agent and he had a wife and four children to take care of.

HOWEVER, he did apply to the OSS to see if they could use him. One of his “skills” he listed was “riding horses” but also said that he fell off of a lot of them.

That application is in a special file in the National Archives, College Park, Md. I’ve actually held it and read it. Might even have a copy around the house. Nice to work for the government and share some common interests with the archivist who was in charge of protecting it, the late John Taylor, a legend to intelligence people re his knowledge of intelligence documents at NARA (his book collection was pretty impressive too - which he donated to the NARA Library).

Now ask me about my James Stewart Army Air Force docs I found at NARA (Flight configuration plans with his rank and plane position for different missions. Also I have a copy of his visit 9with his wife) to So. Vietnam and a Mekond Delta medical facility for severely wounded Americans and allies soldiers, about Feb. 1969).

He was also reenlisted for a day or so to serve on a B-52 against the Communists, possibly in No. Vietnam. His rank was Brigadier General. One of Hollywood’s greatest war heroes and patriots.

This is where the rot started, in the 60s, and we are still rotting.

It is ONE thing, as in the 1950s (Bilko), to poke fun at American institutions (e.g., the military) upon which our nation depends.

It is ANOTHER thing, as in the 1960s/70s, to openly ridicule such institutions and subject them to scorn. (Though one could still maintain that such films could at least start a well-meaning debate.)

However, it is ANOTHER THING ENTIRELY to thrust a dunce-cap on gramma's head, with a placard around her neck, set her up on a stage, and seriously subject her to a monkey trial.

This third scenario is where we are today. The leftists aren't "poking fun," nor are they indulging in junior college-level "indignant outrage."

They are seriously calling for / actively working for the destruction of such vital institutions.
