During this episode, the cast spoofed a Minneapolis morning news show to discuss the trial over George Floyd’s death in custody.
“Sounds like we all agree there’s no way Derek Chauvin walks away from this,” Kate McKinnon said.
Two black cast members, Keenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim, immediately began to express doubt.
McKinnon goes on to discuss how the defense has been arguing that Floyd’s cause of death was actually the fatal amount of drugs in his system.
“And there’s no way the jury is gonna fall for that,” McKinnon says.
The black actors continue to express doubt that a white officer will be convicted.
Midway through the skit, a white cast member playing an anchor disavows violence and property damage.
“I think we can all agree that no matter how bad things are, destroying property is never the answer,” he says.
The two black actors respond with “I wouldn’t say that,” before adding “there’s insurance” and it’s “just property.”
“I just think protests should be non-violent,” the anchor responds, drawing ire from the black cast members who begin downplaying his opinion for being white.

It’s been about 30+ yrs for me too. The one Andrew Dice Clay guest hosted was the last funny one I saw. Since then SNL’s become a clown show and not in a funny way 😖
IMHO, I think we get a hung jury. Whether or not they retry will be interesting. Regardless the animals will use it as an excuse to burn and loot.

They gave up trying to be funny a long, long time ago.
SNL sucks. It makes me miss Chappelle’s Show.
I miss In Living Color, much much funnier show.
In Living Color was very good, but I liked Chappelle better.
Bringing up In Living Color makes me think of Hollywood Shuffle, and the Kentucky Fried Movie.

What they implied, then, is an insult to blacks. Do all blacks approve of looting and violence? I think they knew exactly what they were doing. The networks love the riots. It makes for good ratings for their news programs.
Yes, insurance has basically been socialized. Lefties at Consumer Reports and others were complaining that it was discriminatory for insurance companies to charge more for auto insurance in minority communities, so insurance companies bent the knee and said they would change. The only change is that everybody else will be charged more for their auto insurance. It doesn’t matter to these SJWs that there is a difference in risk in these areas and for non-payment of bills.
That’s why its called a “parody”.
