A former FBI official who was part of Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation is assisting New York prosecutors in an inquiry into the Trump Organization.
Morgan Magionos, an ex-FBI forensic accountant, is part of a group of outside experts from FTI Consulting aiding the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation into the dealings of Donald Trump and his company, CNN reported.
Investigators are looking for a possible bank, tax, or insurance fraud.
Magianos played an instrumental role in the prosecution of 2016 Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, who was later pardoned by Trump.
She left the FBI in 2019 to join FTI Consulting, a business-advising firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., which was hired by BuzzFeed to verify parts of British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s discredited anti-Trump dossier.
Manhattan New York District Attorney Cy Vance has obtained millions of pages of Trump’s tax returns as he continues his witch hunt, The Daily Mail reported.
Cy Vance’s office spokesman, Danny Frost, said it had received the documents within hours of the Supreme Court refusing to hear Trump’s attempt to keep the records from them.
They were handed over by his longtime accounting firm Mazars, which had promised to comply with the subpoena as soon as it was upheld by the courts.
Vance’s prosecutors are investigating whether Trump committed tax fraud through inflating the value of his properties to get loans and deflating them for tax purposes, and are also believed to still be investigating hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal over their claims of having sex with him.
Vance is probing whether Trump and his company were engaged in defrauding schemes, tax fraud, and insurance fraud including possibly providing false information to banks or financial organizations about the value of some of his buildings and assets.
But Trump is furious with both the Supreme Court’s decision and with the investigation by Vance which he sees as a “fishing expedition.”
“This investigation is a continuation of the greatest political Witch Hunt in the history of our Country, whether it was the never ending $32 million Mueller hoax, which already investigated everything that could possibly be investigated, ‘Russia Russia Russia,’ where there was a finding of ‘No Collusion,’ or two ridiculous ‘Crazy Nancy’ inspired impeachment attempts where I was found NOT GUILTY. It just never ends!” the 45th President of the United States said.
“So now, for more than two years, New York City has been looking at almost every transaction I’ve ever done, including seeking tax returns which were done by among the biggest and most prestigious law and accounting firms in the U.S. The Tea Party was treated far better by the IRS than Donald Trump. The Supreme Court never should have let this ‘fishing expedition’ happen, but they did. This is something which has never happened to a President before, it is all Democrat-inspired in a totally Democrat location, New York City and State, completely controlled and dominated by a heavily reported enemy of mine, Governor Andrew Cuomo. These are attacks by Democrats willing to do anything to stop the almost 75 million people (the most votes, by far, ever gotten by a sitting president) who voted for me in the election—an election in which many people, and experts, feel that I won. I agree!
“The new phenomenon of ‘headhunting’ prosecutors and AGs—who try to take down their political opponents using the law as a weapon—is a threat to the very foundation of our liberty. That’s what is done in third-world countries. Even worse are those who run for prosecutorial or attorney general offices in far-left states and jurisdictions pledging to take out a political opponent. That’s fascism, not justice—and that is exactly what they are trying to do with respect to me, except that the people of our country won’t stand for it,” Trump said.
“In the meantime, murders and violent crime are up in New York City by record numbers, and nothing is done about it. Our elected officials don’t care. All they focus on is the persecution of President Donald J. Trump,” he added.
“I will fight on, just as I have, for the last five years (even before I was successfully elected), despite all of the election crimes that were committed against me. We will win!” he said.
No one has any interest in actually enforcing the law. But they are very interested in “getting” that Orange Man. Somehow. Some way.
“Investigators are looking for a possible bank, tax, or insurance fraud.” Well then why can’t the district attorney get ahold of every New Yorker’s financial records and sift through them to see if some crime was committed by someone? Who cares about probable cause?

IF they can do this through lawfare there is nobody they could not target. Nobody. We let them do this and we are effectively surrendering control of our own government. DOJ and our Federal courts have green-lighted this kind of political targeting because they engaged in it.
This is the real danger of the “treatment” of Trump supporters where some have attempted to equate attendance of a Trump rally with sedition.
