Joe Biden might just have killed Major League Baseball

Georgia passed a law that greatly expands people’s opportunities to vote. However, because it mandates Voter ID for absentee ballot requests, Democrats, led by Joe Biden, have announced that the bill is the Second Coming of Jim Crow. Joe went further and sought to destroy parts of Georgia’s economy by calling for Major League Baseball to move its All-Star Game out of Georgia. And the MLB franchise heeded that call.

One of the highlights of the baseball season is the All-Star Game, which was set to be played on July 13 in Atlanta. Since 1933, midway through the MLB season, fans pick their favorites from the American League and the National League and then the chosen stars compete. I’m not a baseball fan but I’m willing to bet that, in terms of ad revenue and merchandise sales, it’s an important part of the business end of pro-baseball. And it certainly brings revenue to the city hosting it.

On Thursday, Biden made one of his little scripted appearances, this time on ESPN. It’s worth noting that ESPN, which Disney owns, long ago transferred its allegiance from sports to leftism with a serving of sports on the side. Trump, who was a fine athlete when he was young, was never allowed near ESPN.

Sage Steele, ESPN’s interviewer, told Biden that

Yes! I tuned into a game last year and the fielding was what I would expect from college level or worse. It was HORRIBLE. Base running as well.

I think the last All-Star game I watched had Reggie Jackson in it. How many years ago was that?

Cricket seems to be played by blue-blooded Englishmen, Asians, West Indians, et al. with no issues. If it were to catch on here I could see the Washington Post headline now: “Rise in Cricket’s Popularity Raises Questions About Its Disturbing Colonialist Past”.

Agree. That’s why nothing beats Cape Cod League baseball, the preeminent wood bat summer collegiate league.

By rule, any tie game that completes five and a half innings and is curtailed by rain or other adverse conditions goes into the books as exactly that; a tie...

Having been a Dodgers fan, I was unaware of that. The Dodgers never get rained out.

My son plays college baseball. He and others of his generation watch very little professional baseball on television compared to my generation. YouTube or MLB.com clips of a great play or nasty pitch, yes. Free tickets to a game? Sure! But they are not fans of the game the same way I and others of my generation (and my father’s generation) were. Most of them don’t give a f&$k about Babe Ruth or even know who the great players of my generation are. They definitely enjoy going to a game if given the opportunity or may be fans of and wear the gear of a particular team, but it’s just not the same.

Glad I grew up watching the greats like Mantle, Marris, Warren Spahn, and of course Yogi.

MLB just plainly told all of us that they are against democracy. They took their bargaining chip, and a weak one at that, off of the table.

That’s very true. That sound takes me back to my childrens’ younger days when they both played baseball.

Sitting in a lawn chair, eating sunflower seeds, with the dog tied up to the chair, the sun gently sinking down, bringing forth beautiful shades of orange, purple and bright blue.l

‘How could you not hate Biden?’

it is a very simple thing...I do not hate people (which BTW does not equate to mere disaproval) who have not given me a valid reason to invest a personal feeling so infused with spitefulness, as hatred is...

I did not vote for the individual; if I hated him as well, do I get another vote to use against him...?

CHINESE COMMIES DON’T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN THAT’S WHY THOSE BUSINESSES AND SPORT INDUSTRIES WITH CHINA CONNECTIONS ARE AFRAID THIS COULD HAPPEN WITH THE GEORGIA ELECTION REFORM
REVIEW THOSE GEORGIA SENATE ELECTION RESULTS

There were a series of fraudulent voting charges here. Were they enforced and corrected before this election took place ? If they weren’t is not a review called for ? They were created with the introduction of Covid 19 which Biden campaign thanks the CCP for doing; http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3940857/posts
If the Georgia Secretary of State is in charge of voting he has the responsibility of enforcing the state’s regulations as to who votes. And eliminate those from voter lists who don’t qualify.

Assign prosecutors to personally canvass and investigate. Check if military actually voted by asking them. Identify all voters by checking on legal age their residency and citizenship. If found they do not qualify charge Illegals including state visitors known as snowbirds also include any technical computer fraudulent Italian programming testimony when presenting to the court and get these election results tossed.

LINKED HERE ARE REASONS WHY THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD BE DOING 90% of the military votes went for Biden ?

The Kaeperneckus effect.

Ask the NFL and NBA how that’s going for them.

Pro sports are no longer in it for the trophy.

Pull all their protections against anti-trust and let them rot.

Did Tecumseh’s curse get flipped when Biden stole the 2020 election?

Instead of the POTUS dying in office, now the country dies while he’s in office?

I’m not saying it will work. Nor am I saying that MLB came up with the idea on its own. Obviously this exists in the context of the reaction to the Georgia law.

But it’s a fact that MLB has been trying to attract a younger audience. Part of that has been considering significant rule changes to make games shorter (while still allowing plenty of time for ads). Part of that has been social justice nonsense.

People here love to blame the Democrats and the Left for applying pressure, and there is no doubt that they do that, but recently corporations and organizations have been rushing to go along with the latest social causes and one of the reasons for that is to make themselves appear hip and with it. We saw it with BLM. (Even with companies that were at no risk of being attacked by the mob.) We saw it with trannies. And this is just another instance.

Portraying it as innocent victims giving into leftist terrorists is cutting these guys slack that they no longer deserve. Increasingly, things are being run by people who either agree with the Left (due to schooling and social circles) or are more than willing to say whatever in order to appear hip and to sell to my generation (millennial) and younger. Gone are the days of a conservative business culture.
