Dozens of America’s top media outlets parroted the conclusions of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 report despite warnings, even from the Biden administration, that the document was heavily-influenced by Chinese propaganda.
The WHO buried its dismissal of the much-debated lab leak theory at the very end of its lengthy COVID-19 report. Secretary of State Antony Blinken told CNN on Sunday that he was worried “about the methodology and the process” behind the report, noting “that the government of Beijing apparently helped to write it.”
Despite Blinken’s red flag, many media publications opted to take the report at face value. One day prior to the WHO document’s official release, the media widely obtained a draft copy of the report – and ran with it.....
The Associated Press was the first to break the story, titling the news “WHO report: COVID likely 1st jumped into humans from animals.” While the wire service added in Blinken’s concerns and provided a bit of nuance in its writeup, it largely appeared to take the report as is.
The AP described the lab leak idea as “a speculative theory that was promoted by” Trump. It also noted that China “rejected” Blinken’s criticism and blamed “suspicion of China” for fueling “the theory.”...
This AP report spread like wildfire. ABC News, The Washington Post, Voice of America, U.S. News, the Boston Herald and countless other smaller publications syndicated the AP’s headline. ABC News’ syndication, in fact, even declared that “the findings were largely as expected.”....

Biden’s own Secretary of State questions the WHO report, yet the media runs it at face value. This getting way too confusing for me. I would have expected just the opposite.
The thing is, from a scientific point of view, the idea that a virus was created in a lab and released just does not make sense. Chinese science is not further advanced than American science (they steal technology from us), and we do not have the ability to custom create viruses. The situation is a bit more complicated than that as far as what we can and cannot do in the lab, but the bottom line is that nature is perfectly capable of making very deadly viruses and has been doing so since forever.
We can blame the Chinese for trying to hide and cover up the outbreak and for their continued efforts to cover it up. Their actions early on helped ensure that the outbreak would spread. This is typical of Communist governments, to hide problems instead of acknowledging them, because they will never admit that problems can and do arise in Communist dictatorships (the narrative being that Communism is a perfect form of government). Of course, ignoring problems does not make them go away.
While China continues to be behind in technology, the idea that the virus was created in a lab makes a lot of sense. It was either released or escaped prematurely as it wasn’t really as effective as they likely want it to be. Consider that it was barely a problem for children and young people, but much more deadly with older people. If you want to decimate a country, take out the older population and leave the young that can work and be more easily indoctrinated. They are also looking at tailoring viruses to attack based on genetics. In this case it strongly appears they were just not there yet and it got out before all the design effort was done, but it was still enough to ruin economies, stifle dissent in Hong Kong so their communism could be fully enforced ther, got America weakened so re-election of Trump less likely, and America weakened enough that Taiwan will be theirs before the year is over.
