Democrats, Satan, and the 'Fairness Doctrine' - (Satire?)

The media has been abuzz lately with calls to revive the "Fairness Doctrine". CNN, MSNBC, CBS, along with a number of other major media outlets including the New York Times and Washington Post are now demanding that something be done to stop what they call, 'disinformation". What disinformation is seems to be defined by anything they don’t like and is almost exclusively conservative content. Online, the attack against opposing ideas has been even more aggressive with Big-tech companies selectively banning people and arbitrarily removing anything to which they are opposed.

Following a number of successes in having conservative outlets defunded, deplatformed, and silenced, some Democrats are now embolden to take it a step further and have set their sights on the Bible.

Congressional Democrats: Bibles must contain Satan's side of the story

With the media on their side, and a Democrat majority in full control of the House, and a tie breaking vote in the Senate, Democratic House majority leader Nancy Pelosi announced a proposal for a bill that would revive the 'Fairness Doctrine' in the media. Also included in the new bill is an amendment sponsored by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), requiring that Bibles also carry an opposing view.

When Speaker Pelosi was asked if she would support the amendment proposed by AOC, she stated: "I do. No book has ever been so dominating, sold more copies, or been read more widely than the Bible. However, the Bible is very a divisive book, filled with bigotry, and it only presents one point of view from old, almost white men, who were right-wing extremists. The holy scriptures as written in there archaic form are outdated and no longer represent the world today. The Bible also fails to mention the Palestinians and their right to the land from the River of Jordan to the sea. In the name of all fairness, it's time for that to change".

The bill, if enacted into law would require Bible publishers to provide, at their expense, an equal number of passages for Satan and his disciples to present their side of the story.

AOC, speaking before a group of woke activists from Democrats for Equal Voice In Literature and Scripture (DEVILS), explained why she felt it was important to add the amendment, "For too long now this book of hate [the Bible] has been used to empower white supremacy and to spew one-sided hate unopposed. There must be a voice of social justice to oppose this bigotry and create an equilibrium of good and evil"

While passage in House seems a foregone conclusion, in the Senate there is likely to be more resistance. Chuck Shumer, who said he supports legislation requiring that Satan's side of the story be presented in the Bible, has faced harsh criticism. Senate Republicans accused Schumer of a conflict of interests for pushing a policy that would obviously benefit his lifetime employer. Democrats responded to Republican calls for Shumer to recuse himself by pointing out that Mitch McConnell has the same employer.

When the Senate majority leader was asked why Satanist don't just write their own bible, Shumer responded, "This is about a monopoly on the truth. There is no other book that is so widespread and has had so many readers. It has been the best selling book in the world for hundred of years. If we are going to have a true democracy that ensures equality and fairness, the only solution is to include an opposing view in the scriptures."

While Satanist have in the past written many books, all of them have failed in comparison to the Bible. When asked for comment as to why, Lou C. Ferr, the spox for DEVILS stated, "The fact is, we have been extremely successful in creating perverted versions of the Bible, but have often fallen short when it came to getting people to openly confess Satan. I suppose it's not a critical issue since we have most of them anyway, but it's the principle. It would be really gratifying if we could get more of them to openly proclaim Satan as lord. But even in light of many new versions with important changes, the ancient scriptures have endured for centuries; that's a real problem. Whenever anyone tries to add or take away anything, bigoted religious fanatics on the fringe rise up to condemn any changes to the word of God. This bigotry has to stop. Perver...uh...diversity of ideas must be allowed to prevail, even in the earliest Hebrew scripts of the Bible”

When asked about bipartisan support for the bill, Pelosi said she believed that there were many members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans, who were both joined together by the same spirit.

i know this is humor.

But since when are jews considered “whites?”

That would be major news to me and to the jews, as well.

The post says, “old, almost white men”. The point is, now, everything that can be cast in a negative light must somehow be connected to white people. Remember Zimmerman when he killed Travon in self-defense? He was Hispanic, but because a black was killed all of the sudden he became white in the media. Same type thing here. I thought it was funny that a Jews who wrote the Bible became, “almost white” because the Bible influenced white culture. You’re right, it’s humor; but there is a point that is being made, not historical accuracy.
