He was very well-rehearsed to take predictable questions on the Democrats’ soft-points and respond with articulate answers that had almost nothing to do with the real issue. Less reassuringly, he read from briefing notes at length in a manner that brazenly advertised the pre-selection of questionnaires, questions, and generally windy and evasive answers. No president in the history of such press conferences, going back to Franklin D. Roosevelt, has ever responded from a briefing book, especially one where the questions were in anticipated sequence as occurred today.

The range of questions did not have to be pre screened. They could sit down and craft answers to 90% of the questions. And when you are asked one you haven’t rehearsed...you read the answer to one of the others.

Truly embarrassing, a couple of takeaways:
1) The Briefing book, clearly they believed it was necessary due to cognitive decline.
2) The Press, 180 degree opposite of the Trump demeanor where they shouted and challenged and accused.
3) Question content: All predictable, follow-up was expected, no unique or creative questions.
4) Manner of questions, some were loaded with compliments as part of the question.
5) No questions from the number one cable news organization in America, clearly they are afraid of a non scripted question.
6) Impression: staged, scripted and boring.

He read the names of reporters off a index card. He knew the question they would ask and had answer written on the back. He got ahead of himself. Called on the reporter and must have put the card down and picked up the next card and flipped it over. The reporter asked about gun control and he started in on drinking water in schools. He must have jumped ahead. It’s like he didn’t even listen to the question. He is so out of it. He stopped in the middle of a answer once. He likely had a ear piece. Did anyone see a promoter.

They may not let him have another one. He had index cards with the name of reporter to call on. Had the question written on it. Flipped it over and had the answer on back. He still got lost. If he had 30 reporters in front of him talking over him and screaming questions he would never make it. He almost got mad over a question he knew was coming.

It was my idea way back before the election that they probably mega dose him on adderall in those few non-basement appearances that they didn’t call lids on.
The sad part is, jacking him up on adderall (methamphetamine mixture) just to squeeze out as much performance as they can out of his failing neurochemistry probably precipitated a faster decline in his cognitive abilities.
