“There’s more first time gun buyers than I ever seen before, I mean, there’s been certain times when political events have caused you know people to think more about guns or a lot of new gun buyers come out but this time has just been on fire with I think in January several million more new gun buyers on the market and I think we just continue to see that,” Smith said.
At John Brown’s Armory in Beaver Country, Pennsylvania, it is a similar story. The shop has seen steady sales since the outbreak of the pandemic a year ago, followed by a spike after Election Day, but it has been the most recent round of stimulus money that has driven the most recent sales online sales manager Nicholas Parish told WPXI 11 News.

I already have a gun but can’t find 9mm ammo..all sold out always.
If you’re desperate
Sam’s is the best place on the net for ammo, normally great prices and customer service, it’s a family business.
If you can get away from the city, sometimes the best place to find ammo is at the little gun shops.
Good luck. There is a very limited supply. I was thinking of using some of my stimulus check to pick up a .9 mm semi auto rifle. Everything except one Beretta Storm and MPX’s are out of stock. I don’t have $3900 for an MPX. I guess I I’ll have to stick with my AK and be glad to have it.
When I have the chance I’m at the opening of the sport big chain stores Cabelas, bass, or field and stream on delivery days. I don’t always find 9mm or 45cal but when I do its running about $18 and $22-24, respectively. Also calling around to the smaller shops has been decent closer to $25-30 for box. I would rather dry fire and use lasers than pay the inflated internet prices.
It’s a conspiracy.
Relatives of mine (5!) were all waiting in line at Bass Pro when the first stimulus checks came out - they got there super early to be among the first 10 in line .... they’d been the day before & the line was too long (only letting in 10 at a time). All of them left with new handguns (BP had a good sale going on & they bought 3 of those, one of which was the last one!). So yeah, stimulus checks are great for gun sales.
As a result of the handgun purchases, I got a hand-me-down .... very utilitarian little revolver that beautifully fits my hand (including a ‘short’ trigger finger) & is easy for me to shoot accurately. I’ve had issues finding something that fit, despite trying many other handguns. :-)
Dry practice was always supposed to be 60-80 percent of your training. More incentive than ever with the current cost of ammo.
I use, and train students with SIRT pistols (nextleveltraining.com) and laser targets (acceleratedfirearmtraining.com). Freepmail me if you want a code for discount on SIRT guns.
Thanks for that info; was wanting to get more range time....
Yep, that’s were part of mine went. And I even found ammo for it at near pre-pandemic pricing. Very happy.
If you can find a Ruger PC9, they are great, and even usemGlock mags.
A .9mm? Dang, that is one seriously small cartridge. 😁
I heard this morning that you can’t use the stimulus check to buy firearms or ammunition. Anyone else hear this news? //sarc off//
Try ammo seek.
Weed sales seem to be booming too all the best strains are out of stock.
Paper weights.
I know some SIG models have optional triggers available for those with shorter fingers
According to what I have observed, in my neighborhood there is a boom in the purchase of giant screen televisions, I have seen quite a few empty boxes outside some houses the day the garbage collector passes
