...Arguably the most interesting part of today’s proceedings happened in the last seven minutes or so before the court recessed for the day. That’s when the prosecution complained about some informal conduct by the defense counsel, only to find itself scolded by Judge Cahill, who then fairly stormed out of the court room. I’ll come back to that in just a moment, along with video of the event.
As a brief summary of the substantive parts of the day, however, the afternoon saw four prospective jurors subject to voir dire.
The first of the afternoon’s prospective jurors, #90, was rather quickly dismissed for cause when it turned out he was wildly biased against the police, whom he characterized as systemically racist and over-militarized.
The second prospective juror, #91, was a retired female who self-identified as black. She was found acceptable by both the defense and prosecution and was seated as the 11th juror for this trial.
The third, #92, was another female, and she was also acceptable to both the defense and prosecution and was seated as the 12th juror for this trial.
The final prospective juror, #95, a male, was dismissed for cause by Judge Cahill after questioning by defense counsel Nelson revealed that #95 would be too concerned about the safety of his family to take on the responsibilities of a juror on this trial.
For what it’s worth, the two seated jurors, #91 and #92, both struck me as perfectly reasonable jurors for this trial, especially in the context of some the patently and outrageously biased prospective jurors we’ve seen coming through voir dire so far...

12 jurors now seated.
Why did judge storm out. Can’t access entire article.
That our modern court system is pretty much a joke is not a question of debate.
Whether it’s the biggest joke in our country’s large collection of joke institutions is.
Liberals have the Outhouse Touch.
Everything they touch turns to shi....er...Dorkbamastuff.
I thought $27mil payout would have ended this trial.
It comes up fine for me. LI’s is slow to load since they got new providers, moved servers, or whatever they were forced to do to prevent a purge, but it loads.
Everybody in the Twin Cities get a good supply of hotdogs and marsh mellows and a long stick or two... Its gonna be a huge bonfire.
I’m not a Chauvin fan. Still, I can’t see how he can get a fair trial in Minneapolis.
The trial is going to become #1 on the networks, rivalling the OJ trial. The purpose will be to condition the public to accept further unfair acts by government, such as reparations, MORE special privileges for non-Whites and more restrictions on Whites.
Theater. Predictable at that.
Just setting the stage to eclipse 1992.
We ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
Kidde is having a twofer on fire extinguishers. Get some.
saint george died at 9pm from a 4x lethal drug overdose (fentanyl) as well as having meth & heroin in his system.
Chauvin was not responsible for saint george’s death.
you print all that bullsh!t but not the quote... WHAT DID HE SAY?
It’s not that simple. It has to do with a somewhat complicated procedural thing.
The point is that the prosecutors seem not to be impressing the judge.
It seemed to be something said at a press conference. More talk at a press conference on the settlement. Defense said one thing and the prosecutor denied it. Judge said something to the affect that just having a press conference by the city is stopid at this point. This is my take just watching it.
I think part of the problem is that the Prosecution seems to attempting to burden the Defense with a lot of paperwork. It's a clever tactic to make the Defense attorney less effective.
thank you...
They will be pressured into some sort of guilty sentence for fear they will be targeted by BLM. Can't blame them, I would express the same concern.
Pretty sure that the lack of paper work was about the press conference. Defense did’nt have supporting paper work.
Prosecutor had a handwritten transcript that he admitted wasn’t word for word. Like I said I’m working from what I recalll so it could be all wrong.
Chauvin’s actions were excessive. Chauvin did not kill him. A fentanyl overdose killed him. I would not convict him for murder. I would gladly convict him for the use of excessive force.
