My dear wife is suffering from back pain radiating from the oblique muscles on the right side of her rib cage. We have seen lots of doctors. All say in is macular, but none have given us anything solid as to lifting the pain. WE go for a series of X rays today.
Walk backwards around the house, or around the block. No joke. This was the old trick of my neighbor Milton Fuhrer, who trained all the ballerinas in Manhattan for years.
Prayers for your wife. Gabapentin helps me with the neuropathy I get in my toes at night. I take ‘as needed’ only. I was also given Tramadol, but that didn’t do anything at all.
Prayers for your wife. Check your mattress, make sure it’s good, and if she sleeps on her side she may need to either use a pillow to prop her up so she’s half on the pillow half a n her side.
Prayers for your Wife’s recovery. In Jesus’ Name I Pray. Amen.
Prayers going up!
Sending prayers.
Sounds like she has a rib out.
I’ve had that happen. Same feeling.
See a chiropractor.
MDs ignore that you can dislocate a rib or ribs. In my case by coughing. My DO popped things back into place and after a couple of days I was free from pain.
(2) The pain may be exacterbated by inflammation, so NEVER use heat! Only col: icw cubes in a big ziploc bag folded in a towel.
(3) If the posture reliebing the muscle tension, and the cold for the inflammation, then also take a couple of ibuprofen, which is an anti-inflmmatory pain reliever to further diminish inflammation.
(4) One other device is a backboard which is like a teeter-tooter. You lay on the board with yoe heels fastened to it, and swing the heel end up and the head end down so that body weight pulls on the spine to lengthen it. Athletes use this a lot. You will see TV ads for a fancy one which wil work very well. But it can be done with a two-foot by eight-foot by 5/8 or 3/4 inch thick "plank', just (while laying down on it) roping the heels to the foot of the board, then lifting up the foot end and supporting that with a chair or step-ladder, with the head end still on the floor.
All these should relieve these hurting muscles enough for them to recuperate and get their strength back.
How I know about this is pretty obvious., eh?
Then to prevent it from reoccurring, go spend a few bucks on some twelve inch wide six-foot boards to place between her/your mattress and its supporting box springs (negating their curvature that they impart when you sleep on your side) so that your body is straight however you sleep, preferably ob your back.
Write me as to how this works when you have done it.
Prayers for a quick recovery and I’m praying that the both of you receive peace.
Prayers up!

I will second the Chiropractor suggestion. I have been getting Chiropractic care for decades and it works. Sprained neck in 5th grade, fixed in about 2 weeks.
Around ‘92 work injury Lumbar and Thoracic Spine, drugs were useless went to the Chiropractor and was taken care of in a few weeks. The workers comp insurance company sent Me to a Neurologist (looked like freaking Doogie Howser md) and he wanted to fuze C4-6 and could only say that it was a 50/50 chance that would fix the problem. I told him (can’t post or I’ll get Banned.) NO FING WAY !!!
Take Your Wife to a Chiropractor !!!
All I can say is start the he Day with the LORD, the rest is His.
Praying for her. I had similar back pain at one time, doc fixed it with muscle relaxers and a series of targeted cortisone shots.
🙏
Will, pray, but you might also want to try acupuncture. An older, Chinese-trained practitioner can work wonders.
