"Massacre" is not too strong to describe what happened in Italy's nursing homes. Was it deliberate, or just incompetence and uncaring?
The people are already thinning the herd. Their birth rate is one of the lowest in the world. Baby even a 1/3rd of replacement or less.
i am beginning to believe that this is all been to plan. it saves the budget, it saves social security, it saves the planet, it reduces the burden on our healthcare system without having to institute death panels. i virus targeting the elderly and the sickly. sounds like something the democrats would love to establish.
Got to save $ somewhere, no? No more pensions right?
Good question. As it applies to your posting this clickbait two sentence excerpt from your blog.
Opens up housing for all those migrants being boated in by the EU.
Use the published title only please. Thanks.
“Culling the herd” is the function of epidemics and pandemics; always has been. The strong generally survive.
This is what you get with socialized medicine.
Gotta cut expenses somewhere.
Except in the case of the Spanish Flu.
In that one, the strong died, the weak survived.
“Massacre is not too strong to describe what happened in Italy’s nursing homes.”
And “culling the herd” essentially means you take out the old grouchy males with low sperm counts but have enough savvy to kick just about every young males butt thus retaining dominion over the females in the herd. Hence low birthrates. In some species older males will also eat the young when hungry.
I’m always hesitant to gravitate towards a grand government conspiracy to explain government failure when good old fashioned incompetence works just as well.
If government can screw something up chances are excellent government will screw that something up.
My one caveat to that rule my be the Cuomo exception. The decision he made to send sick people into the direct path of the most vulnerable would EASILY be understandable if Cuomo’s intent was to shave a line-item expense from the state budget. Caring for the oldest among us is a BIG expense line on state budgets.
I’ve said from day 1 this was done to save SS and Medicare and pensions plans all around the world which were in the red
Daily Mail came out today and said 2/3 of the people who died from covid were obese, diabetic and sick from other conditions
Must be an Italian thing to get rid of old people like Andrew “who cares?” Cuomo.
Actually, the fit generally survive. This has nothing to do with strength.
The Black Death of the middle ages favored the survival of people with a particular variant of an immune system component, called the MHC. As a result, this variant is rare among everyone except those of European descent.
The present government in Italy is the democrat party. It pushed Matthew Salvini out of office. He is the guy who stopped shiploads of “migrants” from entering Italy. The folks in nursing homes are the ones they were replacing by opening the borders....
good point, cowgirl.
yeehaw.
“Must be an Italian thing to get rid of old people like Andrew “who cares?” Cuomo.”
As long as the victims were not his Mother and other relatives.
I was about to say the same thing. It’s possible, even probable that this was not a planned event (in the sense of helping with budgetary, health care, and pension issues), however I do believe that results you describe are being thought of in some corners, as an advantageous side effect.
