I don’t remember it either, now that you mention it. I was going by the listed dates at the link provided. https://history.house.gov/Institution/SOTU/List/
Since Nixon was mentioned, that’s where I started looking and came forward. This is what I found looking backwards:
Lyndon Johnson gave one 1/14/1969; Nixon was inaugurated 1/20/1969.
Eisenhower gave on 1/7/1960; JFK inaugurated 1/20/1960.
Richard Nixon gave on 1/30/1974; then Gerald Ford gave one 1/15/1975. But that was an abnormal situation to begin with.
Gerald Ford gave one 1/12/1977; Carter was inaugurated 1/20/1977. Carter gave his first one 1/19/1978.
I looked back to Truman and it holds true (outgoing giving SOTU just before leaving office) until we reach Carter/Reagan. Interesting.
And that, kids, is our history lesson for today! LOL

Making sure the Biden robot is ready. Animatronics have come a long way since Disney's "Hall of Presidents" but the handlers didn't expect an untested mass theft of the nation's highest office to succeed so well. Fortunately, thanks to the parks barely running because of COVID-19, the technicians have been able to devote maximum effort to the project and should have the prototype running well enough to pull off 40 minutes or so of near-lifelike mannerisms.
All bases are covered. Should a catastrophic malfunction occur Jeff Dunham is on standby with Walter.

He can't get more than 5 sentences out, even with being coached & having a teleprompter, without forgetting what he's doing and why he's there. When he goes out, his wife is almost always next to him to provide comfort for when he is terrorized by forgetting where he is, what he is doing and what day it is.

According to your list, Reagan gave his first SOTU speech on January 26, 1982.
He was elected in November of 1980, and inaugurated in January of 1981.
What are you trying to do, here?
