New polling indicates that more than a quarter of Americans have soured on the Union itself, and support dividing the nation into sovereign regional unions.
29% of Americans support the notion of their own region seceding from the Union and becoming a sovereign country. Polling on the matter conducted by Bright Line Watch, a neoliberal organization, suggests that support for secessionist ideas has increased considerably in the last decade, with polling in 2014 indicating that just under 24% of Americans supported regional secession.

The problems with dividing the country is that Californians will invite the Chinese in so that they can invade the new nations of a free America.

That will happen. Great empires always fall apart eventually. But in the meantime, how about just giving the 10th Amendment a little respect? I’d be happy enough with that.

Would this be a Confederation of American States?
I think that’s been tried...

The United States already ARE regional “countries”.
That’s why they’re called STATES.
The problem is that the general government the STATES created turned the tables and now thinks of the States themselves as mere municipal subdivisions of the federation, something that NO ONE agreed to in 1787.

Who expected the fall of the Soviet Union even five years before?
We should have such a fairly peaceful dissolution. But I fear it will be more like Yugoslavia on steroids.

Shocking? Yeah, about as ‘shocking’ that nearly a third of Americans are not sure that the Earth is round.
Go figure.

"...how about just giving the 10th Amendment a little respect..."Absolutely. The states have almost completely abandoned Federalism so they could overspend and suck more money out of Washington.

Yes... and the North demanded that the racist traitors in the South remain as part of their empire. Just a fact.

Since the Congress and the Supreme Court have declared the Constitution to be Null And Void, the “United States” has really ceased to exist. Accept the reality and let the chips fall as they may. The Constitution is not now nor has it ever been a Suicide Pact.
The Republic of Texas will welcome other states who view Freedom and Liberty as being essential, to join us. We can well prosper without millstones like Commiefornia and Washington, DC dragging us down much better than they can survive without us.

I don’t think that’s true.
