“For some of the heavyweight departments, the big guys, it’s not that big of a deal budget-wise,” El Portal Police Department Chief David Magnusson, told the CBS News local affiliate in Miami. “But for someone in the bantamweight department, such as us, it is a big deal.”

The issue is more than just hitting departments financially. The shortage of ammunition has limited many police officers from taking part in state-mandated range training.

I’m glad our guys have a virtual training system. I’m sure they still need to get to the range, but you can go heavier on the virtual for a time.

There was a few months during the 0bama regime when a bunch of seemingly non-firearm-minded agencies were buying millions of rounds of ammo. At the time, FR was abuzz in posts and replies discussing what the gov could possibly be up to.

Perhaps it's time (and this could be a place for that time) to re-open the question. What were those agencies, being run by the DS at the time, doing with that ammo? Where is that ammo now?

WHen I bought my 9mm gun 5 years back, I also bought a box of ammo for less than $20. Now the same size box is going for $50.

That ammo was sent to Mexican & Central American drug smugglers.

I went into Cabela’s gun department. Their display cases were full of sights, dozens of them. I asked they guy why so many sights on display. He said they normally had pistols there but were practically sold out of pistols.

Wait till the EO ban on foreign imports of ammo hits.

You aint seen nothing yet.

Shooting will be a rich mans only hobby, the days of only $1 a rd 9mm will be looked back on as The Golden Years.

And if online ammo sales are banned like they are proposing, its all over for sure.

Perhaps ammo companies can start restricting sales to police departments in jurisdictions that went for Biden.

Going to make it harder on them to confiscate guns. Bring slingshots. Ammo is the new currency!.

If I were one of these “Bantam Weight” police agencies, I sure as hell wouldn’t be announcing to the public that we were running short on ammo and were having difficulty obtaining more. Cheese sauce, have these people never heard of “Loose lips sink ships”?

So if someone can actually go to the range to shoot, better take a crew for backup.

Your shooting noise will attract the wrong crowd, thieves or Feds, or???

Like the bears who have learned to chase a hunters shot because there will be meat there.

Empty your safes of guns and lock up your ammo. It’s more valuable than guns.

Most Americans aren’t stupid. They can see their government has been seized by very evil forces. And they surely see the communist/Nazi dictatorship being imposed on them. Preparing one’s defenses is Job One now. Job two will be to restore honest elections and representative governance

What about this:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/ralphbenko/2013/03/11/1-6-billion-rounds-of-ammo-for-homeland-security-its-time-for-a-national-conversation/?sh=76578cae624b

Hoax or real? If real, where is it and what are they going to do with it? Fire it? Hand it out to Biden’s leftist ‘army’?

Just bought jars and lids. My wife has never cared about gardening or canning in nearly 30 yrs of marriage. Now she’s all in for a garden and learning to can from my Mom.
