Fox News contributor Trey Gowdy blasted the Chicago Teachers Union for fighting a return to schools saying, “If you don’t want to teach, go do something else.”
Gowdy, the former Representative from South Carolina, began with an emotional story about a child walking to school for miles because he had missed the bus.
“I didn’t want to miss school, ” the child had said after walking for an hour already and still remaining miles from the school.
“That is how bad he wanted to be in school,” Gowdy explained. “That is the power of education. It can change your life.”
That’s when the former Rep. pivoted to the situation in Chicago, where he says “it seems like the teachers have all the time in the world for dance videos and union meetings, but no time for the children.”

Those that can do, those that cannot teach.
Considering the state of education I’m not sure all of them were actually teaching anyway.
Private schools have to respond to Parents demands, or else the cash flow stops and Children are moved to different schools.
Public schools are funded by taxes. Nobody has the leverage to take on the Teacher unions
They could code or land mine!
If they don’t want to teach, they can go build solar panels.
They’ve never been “teachers” in the true sense of the word. Indoctrinating, revisionist history, embracing Che, BLM and Antifa isn’t teaching anything useful. Maybe some parents will wake up and home school Patriotism, true history, character, values and honesty. Never mind.

Union public school teachers should get the vaccine...right after murders, rapists and child molesters.
I'm more concerned about current elected official and what they are doing, which is nothing. This calls for a presser with ALL elected GOP officials standing on the protected Capital Steps demanding their states do something NOW about opening schools.
Someone should give folks in Chicago over a hundred million dollars to help kids learn, call if the Annenburg Challenge or something like that, and then actually spend the money on remedial education rather than blow it all on Left wing claptrap and accomplish nothing.
That’s why it’s called remote learning. The chances of any learning are remote.
