House impeachment managers sent a letter to Donald Trump strongly suggesting the former president testify at the Senate impeachment trial.
The trial, slated to begin on Tuesday of next week, involves a charge from the House that Trump incited a mob of supporters who stormed the Capitol on January 6th.
A formal response from Trump’s lawyers “denied” that he “ever engaged in a violation of his oath of office,” and instead he, “at all times acted to the best of his ability to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Lead impeachment manager Jamie Raskin (D-MD) essentially defied Trump to prove his innocence in his own words.
“In light of your disputing these factual allegations, I write to invite you to provide testimony under oath, either before or during the Senate impeachment trial, concerning your conduct on January 6, 2021,” Raskin wrote.

No.
Get a job.
This all Raskin and he is a nobody.
Pound sand, bitches.
Since his impeachment is based on public acts, those acts speak for themselves. His testimony is largely irrelevant legally. It would simply be an opportunity for the Democrats to turn the Senate trial into a an even bigger circus.
They’re still worried the election will be overturned
Suggest and Demand don’t mean the same thing. Either way, he said he’s not going.
Perhaps his inquisitors ought to be under oath when they assert ‘facts’ in their questioning.
They also said that his refusal to testify would be used as evidence against him. I guess if you are going to hold and unconstitutional impeachment show trial, you might as well throw out the whole constitution.
That reminds me of DUI laws. If a driver refuses to be tested, he is charged and convicted of the DUI.
Or what? Maybe they will impeach him again?
Comrade Senators, if wishes were horses...
“Democrats demand”
A joke in and of itself.
He could use the Hillary responses of “I don’t recall” or “what difference, at this point, does it make?”
So, according to the Democrats, President Donald J. Trump doesn’t have:
1st Amendment right to free speech
4th Amendment protection against unlawful search and seizure
5th Amendment protection from self incrimination
6th Amendment right to a speedy trial by a fair and IMPARTIAL jury
8th Amendment protection from cruel and unusual punishment
He is a private citizen. If they demand testimony, they are claiming him to be so. Then impeachment is illegal. Just saying.
Misleading headline, no demand involved.
Return the letter with a generous serving of used cat litter. Label it “Suggested portion”.
The election should be overturned. The Lindell documentary lays it all out.
Their demand has been met.
